      Question Failing before I begin

      Hey all, This is Xiper

After my first DVA class I found that my best bet for LDing is to go with MILDs/WILDs. I understand MILDing takes work so I am but in the mean time I am trying to work with WILDs. I want to work to enter LDs from MILD and learn dream control from WILDs and hopfuly mix the two studys to MILD with good control when I do RC and gain a lucid.

My problem here is WILDing. I find that instead of counting my breaths or other things... I can get furthest in WILDing by imaging my MILD area and just think of it while fadeing into the WILD. What gets me is that when I start to feel SP, (im guessing thats what it is) the feeling that I am numb and starting to move. My heart rate sky rockets and start to breathe fast, before I know it I have lost it and I am to sit there till it happens over and over...never makeing it to SP and entering the dream.

One thing is should note is that I am WILDing while first going to sleep (if that makes a big difference) I can only WBTB on days it works for me. I just wish I could make it past this... it has happened two times and I feel it will happen again (have never tried this on a WBTB yet).

Any Thoughts would really help, Thanks - Xiper

Well..WILDing before sleep isn't really a good idea in the first place. I entered SP once while going to bed, but it was very difficult and took quite a while (basically, it makes a pretty big difference). If you can't do a WBTB often, you could always give WILD a try during a nap.

Ok, I knew WBTB was better and might have been the missing link but I didnt know for sure... but I don't see the difference in falling asleep trying to WILD and nap WILDing

      Thank-You for the Answer

I believe it is because in naps we go into REM sleep very quickly, however we don't start getting REM periods in normal sleep until 4-6 hours.

      And no problem
