      wild help

I need help with a wild... BUT FIRST let me explain...

I use to have a good amout of LD's or close to it 5 months ago(but i stopped for about 5 months )

The problem is, most of my LD's i entered through a wild. the problem is, i am trying to get back into LDING, but the problem is.......(climax isn't it?)

SP STOPS HALF WAY THROUGH!!! thats right! when i attempt a wild. the SP only stops at my hips(from my toes all way up to my hips and goes no higher!)

I'm stuck laying there with half my body asleep and it's starting to get really annoying. any tips?

      EDIT:

I'm afriad im a NOOB!!! again i forgot how to even do DILDS! any links lol. i need to refresh myself!

I guess "SP" stands for sleep paralysis - although what you obviously mean is REM atonia. Anyway, I wouldn't concentrate on that. I never have it doing WILD at all. It is definitely not a precondition for lucid dreaming or dreaming at all. In many lucid dreams I can even switch between waking and dreaming reality or overlay them. It's like switching channels on a television set. I have prepared a detailed description here.

Why don't you just forget about "SP" and concentrate on lucid dreaming instead?

I do understand very well. You're impeding yourself concentrating on side effects. You're trying to induce paralysis, not to dream lucidly. I did WILD just today. There was no SP involved. WILD is about transporting awareness into the dream state, not about being unable to move.

That's right, DD. I haven't succeeded at WILDing before, but my failures tend to be because I try to VWILD instead of passively observe and do a traditional WILD. As Planewalker has explained, SP and HH and all other side effects are just that - side effects. They're only mentioned in the tutorials and such because some people get them, so there has to be an explanation to answer their questions about what they're experiencing. However, let it be noted that SP can have VERY different feelings for different prospective oneironauts, and can even come without any feeling whatsoever. Mine tends to come creeping along, so silently and subtely that I don't even notice it, so it would be pointless for me to try to follow it and see where I am along in the WILD process.

That being said, you've got it down in the way that you've seen that you have to look at the end result as opposed to getting caught up in the steps and signs to look for on the way to the lucid dream. While I'm not saying you should totally ignore the process itself, you should always keep in mind that you're doing this as a way to get lucid.

      Happy dreaming!

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.
