      Oblivion anyone?

Does anyone play Oblivion for PS3, XBox 360 or PC?
I had it for the XBox 360 but it got scratched all to heck and then my machine died. Now I have a new XBox Elite but it won't let me register it for some reason and I can't download my extra content.
I have the game for the PS3 but I really miss the extra content lol (the castle near Burma where you can enchant your own armor etc) and I can't find it at the PS3 store.

Has anyone ever beaten the game without cheating?
I haven't yet but I'm determined to one of these days
What character do you prefer to play?
My favorite is a wood elf with the warrior as a birth sign, then I custom my attributes for an Adventurer class.

The game is amazing. I used to play it hours on end. Last year there was an occasion where I had to stay home for a week and I pretty much beat the game. Now however it's scratched up and I can't play it.

I want to get into this game, but I just can't seem to for some reason. After playing Fallout 3 first, I feel like I'm taking a step backwards by playing this, and there's just something that makes me feel like a loser playing a game about medieval magic sword wielders and fairies and elves.... I dunno, I'd really like to get into this game, but I just can't seem to find the fun in it. I watched my friend play it one day on his PS3, and he literally spent like 30 minutes running around in a circle healing and shooting arrows at this one guy trying to take him out. I wouldn't want to have to battle a single guy for 30 minutes, it was not entertaining at all.... Maybe my friend just sucked at the game?

Does anybody else here cheat and make their characters super-powerful in the beginning?

      I do.

      Thanks for the links!

My son makes his toon super strong before a game on the PC.
The only cheat I know for the PS3 and XBox 360 is the duplication cheat.

Well that's no fun. I would make the enemy levels extremely high on the PC, then increase only a handful of the attributes and abilities, then duplicate an army of imperial guards outside of a city...then punch one of them. Sometimes I'll spawn a weapon at this point, before I take on the mob of guards, but super-punches are okay too, I guess.

I played it for hours on end, through all the extra content too. It took about 2 months of my life, playing 5-7 hours a day.

Game is terrible without mods, good with mods. Bethesda basically made the community their co-developers to lift the game out of the realm of mediocrity into the realm of RPG-goodness.

      Are they lazy? Yes.

      Are they geniuses? Yes.

      Bethesda rocks.

Let's hope they don't make character creation a pain in the ass this time.

I LOVE the character creation lol
The first few times I played, I spent an hour easily, perfecting my toon

Last night I started a new game with an Argonian. I'm determined NOT to cheat, so I jumped right into the action by going first to Jeoffry (sp) and then to the Oblivion Gate
It get's very tedious after awhile though because I'm anal about collecting all the plants I come across lol

Tedious you say? Nothing compares to the worse part of the storyline; taking down the (around)7 oblivion portal/gate things. Those take forever!

Yes indeed! Another thing I dislike about the game is not being able to decorate more easily lol. I LOVE setting up my houses just perfectly, but arranging books on a bookcase can take hours- especially when they fall through the shelves!!

But it's addicting none-the-less. I started playing my Argonian at around 1AM and I was astonished when I noticed the time displayed when I saved- 7AM lol.
I took a Provigil last night because I'm finally sick of sleeping all the time. I've made it to level 8, I have my first house (the cheap one), I'm a Warrior in the Arena, I got Martin to Cloud Ruler Temple, closed one Oblivion Gate, joined both the fighters and mages guild as well as the thieves guild... and I haven't cheated a single time WOOT!
But boy is it hard!! I never have any healing potions because those things are so darned expensive, but I am on tier 3 of alchemy, so hopefully I can make some more worthwhile potions soon.
The only way I'm making money is by selling Restore Fatigue potions and by fencing stolen goods.

And now I'm going to go play some more. I only need 600 g and then I'll have all the furniture for my home

To make quick money you better start thieving lol. It's amazingly fun.
Plus if you have the Grey Wolves head thing, you can pull off crazy stunts. When I bought a house in that one town with the manor(most expensive one), the only way I got furniture was to try and steal it.

I also had a dream about Oblivion one time

I didn't sleep last night or today because I was so into the game. It's made me a little cranky, but I'm level 12 now and progressing well.
The annoying quest with the Merchants nearly drove me to cheat. They kicked my butt, but I finally got them

I became the grand champion, logged off, and when I logged back on I was like 5 levels from being the GC all the sudden.

      Haven't played since.

I haven't played in a long time. I've fallen in love with Fallout 3.

Glad you made the thread. I could go on for hours on how amazing this game is, after like two years I had to stop so I could experience other games, but this will always have a nostalgic spot in my mind.Dang those were good times................
