      Type of lucid dreaming

      Hello guys

i have been wathing your forum for a while and i was in need to say something..Anyway i had a dream a few days ago and i think it was lucid..Actually the were 2 but it was the same feeling so i ll say just fo the first..I was dreaming i realized it and did some pretty nice things ,although i was going with the dream scenario..The problem was the memory of the dream was like it was a normal dream...Also, when i was dreaming it wasnt so vivid like reality but it was like a normal dream feeling..I have heard about the term false lucid dream and have read plenty of guides...I just want to know what kind of lucid dream was that, because i had a very vivid lucid and i am sure the dream i descriped before wasnt that way..I hope u understand my english and thanks for reading...

There's definitely a difference between DREAM CONTROL and lucid dreaming. I've experienced the same thing, but only when I was actually trying to lucid dream. If you keep trying. I don't think you'll be in doubt when you know you are lucid. Imagine being able to "feel" the wind, walking on grass, the bed you are lying on in your dream etc. Usually, you'll be able to feel these things when you're lucid

Thanks for the reply and for your time...I think i have experienced a dream like this but it was like a 3 second duration and was the best thing i have ever experienced,as far as i remember...I also wanted to ask why almost of my "lucid" dreams were like what i described and were almost all initiated from a FA...

This is an area I'd rather an expert answered. As you can see, I am just a beginner lucid dreamer myself. I think it's different for everyone though. I've had two false awakenings but I was not a second in doubt they were both a dream because I was not in my room and not in my own bed.

I believe if you THINK a lot about lucid dreaming you will sometimes dream about it. Like I said, I've had that experience as well before I had a REAL lucid dream. For me, the trouble getting past the "1st REAL lucid" was that you don't KNOW what lucidity is going to be like. Seems like you've already had that experience though! If I may ask, what induction technique do you use?

There can be many reasons for not having success. I've been writing a dream journal since late October this year, and it's only just starting to pay off. I have to say though, I have no need to do reality checking throughout my day, and I rarely use "mantras". I did early on, but this was mostly to get myself a starting point. You will find that once you start having lucid dreams, you will quickly learn what works for you and what doesn't

Keep going, and at some point you will have succes. Lucid dreaming doesn't come equally easy for everyone, and for some it takes a lot of work. Be careful that you don't try too hard either, some people have experienced that as being disruptive. Sometimes, lucid dreams come only when you stop trying
