      Post

I had a recurring dream as a young boy that I was drowning in a muddy pond by some woods. The last time I had the dream (about 20 years ago), I realized I was dreaming and didn't worry about drowning.

A few years ago, I did some research into dream control and even kept a dream journal for a few weeks. I was recalling a lot of dreams, but didn't have any lucid ones. I was taking a lot of credit hours and working full time and got too tired to keep up with it.

About six months ago, I got put on Prozac for my OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder). This medicine facilitates some very good dream recall and very vivid dreams. I have very strange, epic like dreams in stores, streets, homes, and cities that don't really exist.

Since the medicine was making it so easy, I started keeping a dream journal again a couple of months ago. I have been enjoying the recalling and recording of my dreams each morning even without a lucid dream. But last night I did have one.

It was my second dream of the night (that I can recall) and I was shopping in a store with some dude that I don't know. All of the sudden, it hit me. "I'm dreaming!" I looked at my hands and they looked very real. I grabbed an item off the shelf at the store and held it. I don't know what it was supposed to be, some plastic thing.

Then I said to the other guy "Lets go watch women try on lingerie." We made it to the ladies undergarments section, but a store worker wouldn't let us into the changing rooms. I pushed him away, but another guy came and then a lady tried calling someone on the phone. I ripped the phone wire out of the wall.

The weird thing about this lucid dream is that I knew I was dreaming, but only had limited control of my actions. I was very excited to know I was dreaming while it was happening. I thought about spinning to stay in the dream, but I didn't seam to need to. I could tell that I had to use the restroom (for real), so I tried to make myself wake up.

I had a false awakening and thought my wife was talking to herself very loud in the restroom. It turned out that she was laying next to me asleep. When I woke up, I asked her if she was saying something. She said no and told me to be quiet. I went to the restroom, but know one was really in there.

I'm sorry to make my first post here so long, but I am very excited about the lucid dream!

Nice one. Now it will be only better and better. This make me think... I think after every lucid I start to make some kind of reality check cause it looks like that is more probable to wake up in another dream (fake awakening) then really wake up. Weird...

That's a pretty cool dream, even if you didn't have full control it's better than nothing. I've got OCD but it's not bad enough to get the medicine you're talking about. Personally, i've never had an FA but it's still early days!

Adopted Megabenman although he disappeared a while ago.
