One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the little white pills
In the little orange bottle
Hardly dull the pain at all
Just another emo ballad
Enough woe to fill a shelf
Do the world a favor
And just keep it to yourself
If you really feel like dying
Pick a method, and go ahead
A thousand sorrowful stanzas
You don’t really want to be dead
You see, life is all just a game
Exciting, tough, and sometimes lame
There are main and ancillary roles
Many people, many goals
So maybe you’re not one of the heroes
Ten-million is one one and eight zeroes
A few top-billed leads, a whole supporting cast
Not just in a play, but all of society to the last
You’re so quick call me crazy
Or logically, even lazy
But I have seen it all, my friends
I saw how the world began and how it ends
Sure, I don’t know how every person to the letter
But I know the system well, or even better
I’m a Seer, this much I know
Ask me about the cosmos, and it’ll show
Some have said, “Well, if that’s true
You wouldn’t still be here, would you?
You’d be in another realm,” they say
But I know things don’t work that way
It isn’t hard, anyone can see like I can
It just takes a lot of practice and
You’ve got to really want to
Or there is just no dice
All the logic and talent in the world
Just doesn’t suffice
Michael Chrichton didn’t just write books
He peered into all the hazy nooks
“One,” he said, “Consciousness
Has legitimate dimensions not yet guessed at”
But his philosophical finesse
Went even farther than that
“Two, he said, “At least
Some psychic phenomena are real.”
But even there he had not ceased
He had one more discovery to reveal
“Three,” he said, “There are
energies associated with the human body
that are not yet understood."
Amazing one man could come so far
In just a few words, not too shoddy
He shared just a sliver of the greater good
There is that so-called Necessary Ignorance
That such revelation no one is allowed to know
This manifests in most people’s logical stance
When they say that such things cannot be so
If people did believe, one could foresee
That this relative balance would not be
People everywhere would know too much
They would reach the core, disrupting it and such
So science, logic, diverts the mind and eyes
And thus no one shall realize
The explanations I give are completely true
Objectively, it seems like some divine rue…
It all makes sense, thinking about it
With no will to play the game, all would forfeit
There has to remain some mystery, some wonder
Some sort of binding spell to be driven under
Games are made
To be played
Outside of life, there is no existence
Nothing at all to experience…
So after everything, I’ll admit I was wrong
Share your pain, and your every goat song
Play the game, move throughout life
Soar with elation, and stumble in strife
Life is a MMORPG, and God the master computer
Life a traveling show and you the commuter
Life is a journey, so goes the cliché
And another, live for today
So even when you feel the pressure of the weightiest fetter
Just bide your time, and everything will only get better
