Hey everyone. Just letting you know you can listen to my music at www.myspace.com/garylucasuk

I'm a male pianist/guitarist/singer-songwriter type person, inspired by artists such as Tori Amos, Evanescence, Alanis Morissette, Michael Andrews (the guy who wrote the music to the film Donnie Darko), Damien Rice, Radiohead etc...I don't know how to describe my music. Just take a listen for yourselves
I figure I can describe it since I have a choice in the matter

Ah man great music with a Classical touch. I love it. You've got a very Pleasant and Pure Singing voice!

      What a great Idea anyways.
I'm starting a Ska-Fusion band and we are complete in members ( Drummer, Bassist, Singer, Guitar&BackupVocals (Me) and a Trumpetist) but this time of the year there's not a single place openend for bands to jam round here But when we do get started and record stuff I'll defenitely post it here in this Board too.

BTW I see you picked the same weapons of choice as me:
Piano, Guitar & Vocals. All very melodic

May I ask; What program do you use to record your music with? Would that happen to be CoolEdit?

Hey there thanks for the reply. No I don't use CoolEdit, I'm not even sure what that is, lol. My brother sometimes borrows an 8-track recorder from his college, and I steal it while he's out I then hook it up to my computer using a regular guitar lead and transfer over through sound recorder. It's not the best sound quality in the world, but it's the best I can do at the moment. The second song on my profile was recorded differently. I recorded myself singing on webcam, and a guy from spani recorded the audio from that and added his own stuff and sent it to me

I'd love to hear any recordings your band manage to do. Sounds interesting, any No Doubt influences in there?

yeah No Doubt are cool. They have a wide variety of styles in their Discography.
I want to play all sorts of ska and all sorts of fusions with Ska. Old jamaican 60's style Ska, Uptempo Ska, Punk-Ska, Ska-Reggae, Reggae, Drum N bass Ska ( Imagine a somewhat slowed down DnB-beat with Ska bass and guitarchops ) That's basically the idea. Ska as the core. And from Ska we want to play crossovers with other styles and some Reggae too. But mainly Ska.

Unfortunately a place to jam is nowhere in available in Rotterdam this time of the year But maybe my Trumpetist can fix us a free jamming space very nearby all bandmember's houses. He knows the manager of this Neighborhood activity centre but he hasn't spoken him yet since he hardly sees him. Well I hope that soon I'll hear from my Trumpetist that he has fixed it for us so we can start.

I know a friend of mine who had an office space completely rebuilt as a music-studio. He's enthusiastic about my music samples I sent him and he said he'd gladly allow me to record my stuff once I've got my band together. But for now it all depends on my trumpetist and I know him least well of all the band members. I'll urge him.
