      3d Digital Art

      * - sorry for the dead links!

Hey guys! I just started working on my new 3d software, Maxon. Check out my first project!

      http://homepages.uc.edu/~keeneay/Maxon1.jpg*
      http://homepages.uc.edu/~keeneay/Maxon2.jpg*
      http://homepages.uc.edu/~keeneay/Maxon3.jpg*
      http://homepages.uc.edu/~keeneay/Maxon4.jpg*
      http://homepages.uc.edu/~keeneay/Maxon5.jpg*

I didn't name them very creatively, and i wasn't up to making a new page for them

      Tell me what you think!

The assignment was to make something using only primitive shapes, so we weren't allowed to warp anything into crazy shapes. That's why I picked something fairly geometric.

Looks nice. (Well, that's my oppinion...)

A little tip: All the links in the chains seem to be in pi radians to the next, if you rotate them a little in different directions they would look more realistic.

Remember, I'm new at this, and this is my first ever thing... so it's not going to be Pixar-like or anything :-)

Wow, those pictures look awesome. Although I got kind of freaked out when I saw the one with the playset and the bombing in the background. It looks just like a dream I had for like a year ago, wich I had almost completely forgotten about!

This is the first step of my next project!

A baby grand piano... Keys are first... much copying and pasting here. This is roughly 30 minutes of work.

Is there different spaces between the white keys or is it just the resolution. Uhm, perhaps it's supposed to be like that? I have never played the piano...

      So far so good

There are supposed to be spaces... if it's too regular, it will look fake. If i was going to do an electronic keyboard, i'd make them more exact, but on an old piano, the keys sort of find their own place.

      w00t!

Nice keys. Makes me wish that my 3d modeler was working again.

pretty cool, i never heard of a program called maxon, ive heard of a company called maxon though, which makes cinema 4d. how long you been into this kinda stuff? ive been a cg artist for about 18 months now, some of my work: http://www.3dkingdom.org/modules.php?op=mo...17019cb4ffb23cd http://www.3dkingdom.org/modules.php?op=mo...17019cb4ffb23cd http://www.3dkingdom.org/modules.php?op=mo...17019cb4ffb23cd http://www.3dkingdom.org/modules.php?op=mo...17019cb4ffb23cd

oh and btw, heres some advice: talent doesnt come from knowing how a program works, the best advice ive ever heard was to learn how to model creatively with the tools that are given to you (with an insationable amount of patience of course )

Those are cool. I like the guns the best.

I should post some pictures of what I've made.

Well, they aren't really made in a proper program. More like screen shots of 3d Game Studio...
