This was brought about as a result of something I heard tonight. It may mean something to some of you, though probably not to all.

      <div align="center">***</div>
It&#39;s raining outside again. I sit in the windowsill watching all of you mill around, acting as if there is no rain. I know you&#39;re freezing. Why don&#39;t you come inside? You&#39;ve been invited and the door is open. There is light and warmth here as well as the company of good friends. You see me in the window as you see the others beckoning you inside yet you just stare and walk away.

You can not simply look in the door; a foyer is only a tiny glimpse and an open doorway is still cold. You must journey past the entryway to discover what lies within, something experienced with open eyes through time.

Those other doors are false fronts. They lead nowhere. Why trust them? The roofs you stand under are merely straw. They provide no warmth and will fall in time.

You are a soul trapped in the body of a vampire. Changed after birth one slowly grows away from one&#39;s nature, believing they must embrace the monster to survive. You fear light. You fear being pierced through the heart. One, however, may not live with a dread-full heart of stone. Freedom comes when we may break through fear and discover what lies beneath the shell of the monster, finding the heart embraced rather than pierced.

The door will close and be locked. Have enough sense to come in out of the rain.

Meant nothing to me. Should it have done? Kind of a nice message though, even so. And was there a reson for dread-full over dreadful? I don&#39;t feel you gained anything over the switch.

Very nice, Ame. Great use of metaphor.

Well, it was just a catharsis of emotions. Needed to get something out.

I used dread-full as in "full of dread" instead of dreadful "to be dreaded." (I like words.) Thanks for the comments. (I wasn&#39;t really expecting any.)
