[Story Challenge April] Topic Winner Announced; Ongoing Discussion
Well, it looks like Identity X has run into some things to do, so I thought that if everyone's ready, we could start the next round of short stories.
This month's theme is:
Aliens
When you submit your short story, you may create a thread for it and post the link here, or you can upload your story on another host and post the link here and I will put them all together. If you do create a thread for your story, though, if it is longer than about two pages, put it in between Spoiler tags so it doesn't take up much room. Let me know if you're having problems with that.

The reason I chose the Eurovision style was to generate a more even distribution of points (it was Taosaur's idea BTW)... I'm not entirely satisfied with this method: also, you can see the outcome of voting before you've voted.

I want to try something new, and this little contest gives me such an opportunity. Seeing I have alot of time on my hands, I might give this little doohicky a go. Say, how long should stories generally be in these contests? Page/paragraph/word-wise?

Hmmm, I just finished typing up a 900-word story right now. I don't know if that's the norm around here, but Im going with it. I think I may have overdone the detail in this one, so bear with me if it sounds like insane ramblings and super-big words that don't mean anything.

Well, seeing as you're done... But to answer your question anyway, it's a "short story" challenge, so probably no more than 12-15 pages, I'd say. (I've read 120-page "short" stories before, so I know that "short" is a loose term Originally Posted by Daniel Danciu
