      Jeff_Ray Gun's Showcase

Hello there! I have a creative mind, and I wanted to show you some of the things I do on my spare time.

      Art

      Ladybug Comics

The comics star Ladybug, who is, you guessed it, a ladybug. He and Fly (a fly) appear in 3-panel long strips to make puns and jokes of all sorts. You might not understand the humor of the comic, but hopefully you can enjoy the drawing!

Also, there might be longer strips, as well as interludes more or less related to Ladybug and friends.

The first panel shows how I used to draw ladybug when I first made him up.

      Stories

      Ladybug Stories

Yep, it stars the very ladybug that was in the comics! I made some comic stories on the fella, and I decided to make it in story format.

Story 01 - Fun On Six Hours

One day, as Ladybug was quietly watching the 3 PM landscape from his distant house, he started wondering about something. He was respected, but he needed something to boost him up! He starts thinking, to no avail. He opens his TV, and goes up to the funny channel. A quick flash came up in mind, and it was to have a small show! Even if it was only six minutes long!

He closed the TV, put on his small leaf coat, and left for the Center Of Laughs, which was on the other side of the town. It took him a while to get there. When he did, he asked if he could get a show reservation. Ladybug was told that tommorow was Sunday, and that he could have a show between 6:00PM and 7:00PM. The time he would go on and when he would go on was up to him. He then told the bug that he wanted a show reservation between 6:00PM and 6:10PM.

And with that done, Ladybug rushed through the already dim landscape. He hurried back home, in the worries that bad things happened to people who were out too late. When done, he rushed in each room, opening all the lights. He went in bed for a slumber in his desk lamp's shine.

At 5:55PM, Ladybug left home for the theather, where everyone was waiting for his appearance. When there, it was 5:59PM. From the backstage, he heard the announcer say:

"Ladies and gentlebugs! Today, we have a newcomer for Fun On Six Hours! I give you... LADYBUG!"

The crowd was in a roar. It yelled, clapped and jumped, with the only thing in mind, to see Ladybug's act. Ladybug went on the stage.

"Hello and welcome to 'Fun On Six Hours!' The sole purpose of this show is to make jokes!" said Ladybug in a cheerful mood. Just as he was about to say his first joke, someone in the audience pouted:

"Good! I have one! What gender the ladybug is?"

Ladybug was silent, almost knowing what was coming.

"FEMALE!" the same bug let out.

Everyone was laughing. Not Ladybug. He was rather insulted by the bad humor.

"Just so you know, I'm MALE!" said Ladybug, before storming back to the backstage, bearing the laughs from the audience. When he was in, he saw Fly.

"So, how did you do?" asked the winged bug.

"Bad." let out the spotted bug, still mad from the joke.

      "How come?" asked the fly.

"They mocked my species' name!" said Ladybug.

He booted the chair that was next to him, as if it was an anger reliever. Then, he said:

"When I said the sole purpose of the show was to make jokes, someone made an offensive joke on my species."

"What was that joke?" asked Fly.

"What gender the ladybug is? Female." replied Ladybug.

Fly had already stopped his buzzing, and he was slowly moving towards the floor. Ladybug knew he was about to burst with laughter. He frowned a bit. Then, Fly fell to the ground and started laughing out loud. Ladybug, really shocked from his friend's attitude, walked away, towards the exit.

"Wait!" let out Fly, "I didn't intend to offend you!"

      "Well, you did." said Ladybug.

He turned around to face Fly.

"Now, be a nice fly and go tell them show's over." commanded Ladybug.

Fly buzzed towards the stage, letting out a sigh.

Fly faced the audience, and said:

      "Ladybug cancelled tonight's show."

The crowd was shocked. One could hear many 'What?', along with some 'How come?' and a bunch of 'No way!'.

"Haven't you realised your ladybug joke harmed the fella?" asked Fly, "When you did that joke, he was harmed by it, and didn't want to return because he didn't want to be offended any more!"

"Yeah. We've been a little careless." said one of the audience members, "Tell him we're sorry and that we want him back!"

The rest of the crowd agreed to that part.

"That's the spirit! I'll be back." said Fly, heading for the backstage.

A while later, he zipped out.

"There he comes!" cheered Fly, "I give you... LADYBUG!"

Fly buzzed to the backstage, as Ladybug returned.

"Ok, you all. Promise me you won't do anymore of these harmful jokes, ok?" asked Ladybug.

      "We promise!" responded the audience.

"Alright!" said Ladybug. "So, do you know what the french chair told his wife? Tu m'es chair!"

The crowd paused for a second. Then, getting the joke, they all started laughing. Ladybug's show continued for the remaining 4 minutes, in which Ladybug was able to make the crowd glad they came. At the end, Ladybug left the place after bowing, and was able to sleep after a good day's joke!

Heh, neat. I couldn't exactly read or interpret the comics because they are too small. The story has a good clean moral, it would be great for a childrens picture book. Don't be racist?

Nice. My favorite panel is the close-up ladybug in the quicksand strip.
