      Pixelated Zelda Wall Art

Well guys, I'm in college now, hence the decline in posting. I'm having a great time with my friends, learning tons of new things, and of course making lots of random shit in my free time. I've made a blowgun, airzooka, and boomerang, among others. Recently we had thanksgiving break, and I decided to make some wall art for my dorm room. Nerd wall art, that is

Here's the source material: sprites from Link's Awakening DX.

I chose to do link attacking an octorok. Here you can see how I used my laptop to zoom in on the sprites and trace out the pieces on the lighter colored construction paper.

I marked down the corners of each piece, then used a ruler to clean up the edges.

Here is link, in a pile. The black sheets were too dark to trace through, so I had to use existing pieces to trace out the new ones in black.

And here I'm taping link together, using the sprite as a guide. It's upside down so that when I flip it over the tape will be on the back and it will still be right side up.

Here's the final product, on my dorm wall.

I gotta say, that's pretty damn awesome. I'm sure tons of people would pay for that.

Out of curiousity, what are you studying in college?

It seems there is a God.

And He lives on your dorm wall.

      Thanks guys!

Kushna, Brown has an "open curriculum". What this means for a freshman is that you can (and are strongly encouraged to) take random classes in areas that you think might interest you. You're supposed to explore different areas of study, and you can take any classes you're not confident about pass/fail (still getting credit if you pass, and it doesn't go onto your record if you fail, you just don't get credit). It's really an amazing system.

Fall semester is coming to a close, and the four classes I've taken are
Philosophy - Mind and Matter (small lecture class about the history of the mind/body problem)
Psychology - Brain Damage and The Mind (middlish lecture class about case studies of brian damaged patients)
Cognitive Science - Intentions and Intentionality (tiny seminar about child development and the interpretation of intentionality)
Chemistry 0330 (huge chemistry lecture class slightly above AP chem levels)

I realize that most of these are somehow related to the brain, because I'm so interested in cognitive neuroscience stuff, so I'm thinking of spreading out a bit more-

      Next semester, I'm looking at:
      Intro to International Politics
A Survey of Contemporary Graphic Novels
The Botanical Roots of Modern Medicine (you get to grow the plants in a greenhouse!!)
      Visual Arts Studio
Perception, Visual Illusions and The Arts
      Animal Behavior

Sorry if that's TMI, I just don't really have a simple answer other than "I'm studying whatever seems cool", haha. I'll probably declare a major in Cognitive Neuroscience eventually.
