Thinking about purchasing a graphics tablet, looking for suggestions!

      Hey,

So this recent week I suddenly started to gain an interest in drawing. As I'm sure a lot of you did, I drew quite a lot as a kid, but I remember that I was always able to get pretty good results. So I decided to fetch a pencil and some paper and do some basic work to see if I actually could do anything at all! Turns out it looks like I can! And I'd love to try out with a graphics tablet!

So since I've noticed there's quite a few good artists in here, I'd just like to hear if you know the brands/names of good graphics tablets, price isn't really an issue as I'd like to get a good start here But I don't really know anything about graphics tablets so it can be quite a big deal searching google for something as graphics tablets. Better to hear some direct oppionions from actual artists!

      Cheers!

Depends on your price range. The higher you can pay the bigger the tablet. I got a Wacom Bamboo Tablet, was only 130$ CDN for about an 8" diagonal working space and a mouse. You can get bigger ones for up to $3000 in some stores. But I find a small one is just fine for what I need, and its easier to handle.

Well, as I said price isn't REALLY an issue, although I do certainly not need a $3000 tablet lol. Basically I just wanted to hear what products people in here use, so I can get an idea of brand names and models, and as to what's quality or not. But I'm willing to pay the $130 or even above $200 so. Let's say... $300 for a limit!

      [EDIT]

Seems like the Wacom Bamboo Fun A6 might the way to go? Got a good price, and have received nothing but good reviews from what I've found.

Wacom is generally considered to be the best you can get. Of these, the Intuos4 series are probably some of the absolute best. You can get the small Intuos4 for a bit under your price ceiling, or the medium for a bit over.

Personally, I have an acient Wacom Graphire 4, that has to be at least six years old, but works just as well today as it did six years ago.

I would suggest getting a WACOM Bamboo, they're 80$ and quite the accessory. I use mine all the time and glad i bought it. If I could i would get the one with the LCD screen built in, but those are MUCHO DOLARES!!!
