      Your Music

I did a quick search for threads on music, and though there are plenty... none are like this one. This thread is for anyone with either originals, or covers, to show your skill. It would be easiest if your song were on youtube... though downloads are alright to. So, Inspire me guys!!

Whenever I'm good or not I don't really know, but I do know that I have a blast playing... guitar that is So... here's some of the things I've done:

Wild horses - Cover from a Guns N Roses performance:

Paradise city remix thingy... don't really know what to call it, I just made something up using the paradise city intro as a start. Was the first thing where I wrote original material to:

I really just made it for the fun of it, actually I just kinda threw it together while my mate was here, lol So shouldn't be taken too seriously! hehe.

I've got plenty of original songs I'm proud of. Only problem is, none of them have been recorded because the rest of my band mates are unreliable bumps on a log...so basically, I've only got crappy MIDI versions (which won't work if I try to post them, because for some reason, files I make on my MIDI program are corrupted so that only that program itself will be able to play them). Besides, even if I could post the MIDI versions, it'd be more of a display of compositional skill than performance.

By the way, that last post based off of that 80's-looking anime was cool. What was that anime?

That's maison ikkoku. a 96 episode romantic comedy, slice of life. It's in my top 5 of all anime. and you can watch it all on youtube.

BTW it's 100% better than live action romantic movies. it blows them all out of the water!

      Well

To those who are saying that nobody visits their thread anymore, why not post your videos in here and see if we could get a sticky... specifically for musicians. Also, I've visited both threads mentioned here, and the problem is YOU don't update them or anything. Post some new stuff and people will go there...

      yeah

Fair enough, but you still have to make your 'audience' believe you are making some sort of commitment, and give them things to look forward to... and maybe give 'em little tastes or something... I don't know

SomeDreamer - Pretty slick licks yo :p

Spiritofthewolf (Self-Intercept) - Your music mostly comes off as experimental, like you're still learning how to use things and figuring out how they sound. Otherwise it's alright.

Although I don't have any good recordings of me actually playing, I've made music otherwise. Here are a few links if you're interested:

I made this a few nights ago. the singing is freestyled as is a lot of the production. the words dont mean much.
i call everything i make hiphop, im a beat maker and rapper, but this doesnt sound real 'hiphoppy' which is part of why i dig it. fits in with this recent stuff ive been doing.

Wow!!! SomeDreamer those were so cool! I loved them! I don't play the guitar good enough to post anything and I have nothing recorded of me on my drums or of me singing. I've been singing longer than I've been talking, and it takes me everywhere from contemporary jazz, to rock, to R&B and to some metal even (mainly Evanescence). I would love to hear more of your stuff... (TEACH ME THE WAYS OF THE FORCE!!!) I'll try and see if I can dig any of my music up.

Crap, well I have nothing that I'm able to post, makes me sad. My friend and I have a guy with a studio willing to record us but we need to find a piano player... sucks cause we don't know anyone who plays piano let alone plays well.

      I PLAY PIANO ANGEL! Haha

I might post some of my stuff up too if I can record it. Note: It WILL be crappy quality video and/or audio.

All your guys stuff is awesome. Loved Vampyres stuff. Just one thing I didn't like is the transitions.... Kinda didn't work too well for me. I was expecting a different thing to happen and it didn't. If ya know what I mean....

haha, thanks a bunch for the comment Really appriciate it. And actually I've just got my new Shure SM57 mic home, so I can mic my amp properly So should be awesome, I'll try to have something up soon. Actually I haven't been playing guitar that long... like... 1 and a half year now? All I can say is that slash (and all of the "real" Guns N' Roses stuff) have had a huge impact on my style, hehe. Other than that I grab a bit of inspiration from all kinds of other bands.. like led zeppelin, the eagles, pink floyd and AC/DC.

If you got any questions I'd love to answer them though ^^

That's cool Tommo! I'd love to listen to some of your stuff! If only band gigs could be performed and recorded over the internet with the members in seperate locations and still have the quality be studio work... but alas.

I'd also love to hear more of your stuff Dreamer. I'm always enthralled by good music, and I love hearing how people can invest their own emotions and feelings into a song.
