Being me, I would end up writing about how all technological advances and inventions are all beneficial, and it is how humans use them for wrong that enables their bad qualities to overcome the good.

Then I would try to find out which technology is abused the most.

That's worse. Being American doesn't necessarily mean that you're all that bad.

Then I see you have taken my point... Perhaps you should learn to talk/ to communicate your views in a way that someone who is not American would?

Alternatively, maybe you need to stop generalizing. But one of these two things must happen, I think.

No, I agree that Americans are stupid. I meant that being said to talk like an American is worse then being called an American.

gonna have to go with guns. It takes away the humanity and actually knowing your opponent in war. Guns do more harm than planes by a long shot over history.

I dont see how watching a TV show is any worse than reading a fiction book, you get the same ideas crammed in, just ones visual.

      I don't think it's that... maybe it's because you're what, fifteen?

That's only scratching the surface of the effects of TV. For one thing, people believe that the TV never lies. This creates a huge number of problems (think politics, for one). I think TV also contributes a lot to obesity, to people staying at home 24/7, lack of social skills, etc.

I do admit that it makes it really easy for people to get fat...but couldnt you say the same about people who read a lot of books? Not that they think they are all true, people like that who watch tv are idiots, but the other three things you listed are also much like people who read too many books. Though I guess it is easier to binge on tv than books

Yeah. I don't know of many people who are anti social and obese because of too much book-reading.

I don't know anyone who reads for a couple hours every night, but I know lots of people who sit in front of the television for that long.

If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
