      This belongs in ED.

I said Hillary, but would be happy with either candidate. Their platforms are nearly identical.

I voted other because I don't like any of them very much.

If I had to choose, I'd probably go with Obama.

My choice is clear from the start: Ron Paul

I like him because he is one of the last honest men left in government of ALL nations not just ours.

The other three choices in my opinion will say anything to win, they don't truly care about you, or me...They claim they do care but I've yet to see ACTION taken that backs up their rhetoric.

If not Ron Paul, another choice would be Bob Barr or Ralph Nader, or Mike Gravel

but other then these 4 guys, I would not vote for ANY other candidate reguardless of what they do or say because they are just a bunch of oppurtunistic liars Obama, Mccain, and Clinton.

Now I do not want to start any candidate bashing so please just accept my opinion as I accept yours, I respect all of your choices even though I entirely disagree with every single thing the other 3 candidates say, but I'm going to stick to my guns and realise everyone has their own opinion, even if its a bad choice.

      Thats smart

This is my philosiphy, if you don't like any candidate, don't pick a random one, thats foolish, go research the issues and see which candidate stand's for what YOU BELIEVE IN, not a sugar-coated lie.

anyways, I'm just pissed as to why americans continually keep voting for the lesser of 2 dickheads and not the constitutional party, or the libertarian party, the green party....etc

vote for independents, libertarians sheesh people its not just 2 choices red or blue.

You know all men in all governments outside of America then? Or are you just talking about the obvious selections, I think you are.

well duh, im a 22 year old kid, there's no feasible way I've met every politician on earth, nobody has or ever will I'm assuming.

What I generally mean is, hes the most honest politician i've EVER seen with my own two eyes and not have some secret agenda when he takes office.

How many politicians out of all in the world have you really seen?

      Maybe 10%, at most?

So it seems too much of an assumption to make the sweeping statement about all nations.

why is Ron Paul always missed off

      It's not my country
and to be honest, I don't really care that much for the internal bits of American politics

but it seems like he's got a far better handle on international relations than any of the other candidates

Is this some sort of US media snubbing thing - don't mention him, and no-one will vote for him cause they've never heard of him?

      Just interested

You have a good point but, I'm sure if corruption and lies exist in a democracy, they can exist in MANY other governments.

Yes, and they also portray he and his supporters as insane and psychotic, which is unfair, unfounded, and untrue. A number of them are educated in international policy, history, economics, etc., and realize that we need an intelligent leader to help turn this nation around rather than "good speakers" (the number one reason I have heard people say they support Obama) who promise handouts to further the US's decline into socialism, stupidity, and bad foreign policy. Ugh not to mention I like my civil liberties and would like to keep them.

Even after he beat Giuliani and outlasted everyone but McCain, they still don't talk about Dr. Paul in the MSM. Of course I cannot provide any factual explanations for this, but I think it's fair to say that the US's mainstream media is just as corrupt at the US's governments.

The Mainstream Media has very close ties to government.
The Government views paul as a threat to what they stand for.

      Do the math

Well obviously. I don't know of any definitive proof so I don't like making blanket statements, but that is the gist of what I was saying.

My brother says it best: "No one in MD (around the DC area where we are from) is going to vote for RP. If he won, they'd all be out of a job!" hahaha

yea they will lose their job, what job? department of steal your civil liberties job?

I honestly would refuse to work for ANY government agency because I would be in a way helping the bureaucrats steal tax dollars.

      Yup.
The best thing is the 3 times (so far that I've heard) that they've said RP is dropping out of the race. Anyone who goes on his official site (Ronpaul2008.com) knows he never made such statements and is like... wtf?
Just more propaganda to discredit him. I wouldn't have a problem if they treated him with the same respect as other candidates. Then I wouldn't mind that he is losing, because I never expected him to win. But to just ignore him or slander him, when he is a congressman, a Republican, and a legitimate candidate is disgusting and shows the amount of true corruption.
