Tell me what girls blab to each other

I'm trying to send the message that I like a certain girl, who I've increasingly talked to over the past few days, more than just a friend. There's another girl who is my close friend who told me she had talked to this other girl. The girl I'm after told her I was in her class, which I am. What I seek to do is to tell my friend that I'm thinking of asking the other girl out. I think, maybe, just maybe, if I tell my friend who happens to be a girl that I like this other girl, that she will turn around and tell my crush that I like her. If this happens, then my crush will respond either more positively or more negatively to me whether or not she likes me back or not or has a boyfriend or not. See, that's the problem. I don't know if she has a boyfriend or not so I can't tell if she's interested in me or just trying to be my friend. My question is: Do girls do this? Do they tell each other right off the bat what's been going on? I'm thinking of just telling my friend the next time she sees this said girl to tell her what I said as if she were giving my crush inside information.

Lol. Really, you should just ask her if she feels that way. Smoothly, and gently go into it so as not to freak the crap out of her. IE: "Hey, if you don't mind my asking...so on"

ya, SomeGuy I see what you're saying, but this is a girl who I've been an acquaintance of since last year. Only now am I slowly becoming friends with her. I would only use what you're describing in situations where I've been super good friends with a girl who is single.
