Tell me about harmonica, and also stringed instruments.

I have lately taken an interest in the violin, but other instruments are appealing to me as well like the cello like they use in Apocalyptica. I would like some feed back as to which stringed instrument is the best when talking about violin vs. viola vs. cello?

Also harmonica: is it easy to learn? Even if it isn't i still am going to try.

Compared to most other instruments, harmonica is relatively easy to learn. For a little while I was teaching myself to play harmonica, but ultimately found it too boring and decided to stick with guitars/keyboard. You might like it better than I did, though.

Don't know much about violins and etc.

My friend wants me to learn harmonica so i can come in ona few songs in his band. They are pretty good i think, and i am confident that they will be successful if they stay persistent.

Harmonica players are hot, but violinists moreso.

I taught myself Kakariko Village theme on harmonica (with harmony, of course). That makes me cool.

I've played violin, cello and bass. For about 3 months each, a little more on violin and bass. Bass is the most fun, but it's also the biggest and it gets tiring to play. Cello is kind of weird, I didn't really like it. Violin was pretty cool once you start to get a little better, but it sucks at first because you sound horrible.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

I used to play the cello when I was younger and I enjoyed it. I'm hoping to buy one some day and take a few refresher lessons. Some beginner lessons (for any stringed instrument) would be good so that you get an idea of basic finger position and how to hold the bow. After that you can probably figure things out on your own. It's been about 9 years since I've played it, though...

I won't say no to a well-played harmonica I'm impressed by what some people can do with those things! Too bad quality harmonicas aren't as cheap as they used to be.

Do they make tabs for violin and stuff like they do guitar?

I doubt it. Classical people are really big on sheet music, but they have weird stuff in beginner books that's similar to tabs. But It's easier to read music for other instrument compared to guitar. It's hard to read when theres 6 different spots where you can play a note.

If your gonna learn a stringed instrument you definetly should get some kind of method book to work from. It will show you the basics and make things a lot easier.

They don't use tabs, they use the treble clef. Though maybe they could use tabs too I'm not sure, but it sounds possible. My mom plays the violin and I play the flute, and our music is interchangeable (for the most part).

The violin, depending on what sorts of music you're interested, can be better or worse. She and I were talking about it recently and she was like a lot of it is high pitched, whiny, and not so nice and pleasant to listen to, but then she plays in an orchestra and that stuff isn't really to be played as a solo. You can play things like country/fiddle music, or anything else, and it can sound good. Just depends on what you're interested in. I'd get an electric violin

Violin versus anything? I don't know shit about stringed instruments. Except that they sound friggin' awesome when you pluck them, pizzicato ftw

well theres always the double bass too
its pretty much whatever you wanna do. If its about money then you'd probobly wanna do either violin or viola. A decent one is around 100-200 dollars. But I prerfer the lower strings I play bass and cello

They don't make "tabs" though its all sheet music with the notes on it
But it's not like guitar with numbers or anything like that
