I've only been working really seriously at LD's for about a month, and I've already attained lucidity once, but since that sudden break in the case I haven't had any more success. Last night I tried really hard at a MILD, repeating a mantra over and over out loud before I fell asleep until I just faded out, but I still didn't succeed. When I woke up I couldn't remember anything about my dream, but then I thought about it harder and remembered basically all of it, and I realized that it was a totally crazy dream. I think at one point I didn't even have a real body. It was just so insane. But I'm wondering: Is it possible that a dream could be so crazy that you can't RC? Because obviously we train ourselves to RC during our waking hours when we have regular things to RC with (pinching your nose, checking the time, looking in mirrors, etc.), but if none of those sorts of things are available in the dream, how are you supposed to RC to become lucid? Especially if you convince yourself that that crazy universe is just the way the universe is and always has been, you know? Last night just really threw me for a loop.
