How many odd things have you ever noticed about your school books, while wide awake? How often, when studying a text, do you do reality checks of what was stated? Questioning sensory experience can become a habit, either for or against it. |

iīve never actually done a reality check in one of my dreams before but there are soooo many odd things that i assume that i wouldīve recognized by now that at least one of them were odd enough to see that i was dreaming but i havenīt. whats with this? and should i focus more on getting myself to do a reality check in a dream or just keep trying to notice the odd things? |

The reason why so many illogical things go past us in our dreams is that we are not awake enough to be able to recognize them. When we go to sleep, the critical / logical section of our brain shuts down as it needs serotonin to function. When this section of our brain is shut down, we do not analyze or think through things logically, we just accept them for what they are. |

I believe the section of your brain is called the critical faculty. It is a filter for your 5 senses, and is shut down in sleep. |
