Why don't I recognize my Dreamsign?

      Hello,
I collected about ten or eleven dreams in my DJ and I think one of my Dreamsigns is public transport, because in 8 dreams it was the dream location or a part of it. I'm dreaming of standing at the station, riding a train or a bus very often.

Maybe I'm dreaming of this, because it's a thing I do every day to get to work.

When I enter a bus or train I always do a combination of different RCs. I'm doing RCs all the time I'm on the train, too. Let's say every 5 minutes.

Last night I dreamed again that I'm in a bus, but again I didn't recognized it.

Do have have any tips for me recognizing these specific situations?

What are you doing for your reality checks? Make sure you are concentrating on what is really going on around you. Pay attention to specific details and how things feel.

Also, it seems as if you are just starting. Eleven dreams may seem like a lot... But that's not even a weeks worth for some. Stick with it.

I'm doing the nose pinch, counting my fingers and try to stick finger through my palm.
Every time I try very hard to expect that something strange will happen.

Also I could remember my last dream for a very long time. I woke up at 6am and wrote it down at 9am, doing different things in the meantime. I didn't lose any details, I'm sure. When I think about such paradox things in my dream the only conclusion for not recognizing could be that I'm not trained enough, I think.

Remembering a dream for a long time isn't necessary the goal. Being able to wake up and write down MULTIPLE dreams is what you're really aiming for. But in order to get to that you must be able to remember good details with one dream. Eventually you will work your way up to 2 or 3 dreams a night. With the ability to recall more dreams, the more chances you have to becoming lucid and realize when you are dreaming.

Stick with it. It takes time and effort.

Work has a way to find its way into your dreams because it is somehting you're doing a lot. Sometimes when I was under a little worry about work or school, because it's on my mind, it would end up in my dream

The best way is to really focus on those RC's. Don't just perform them. I find myself asking "Am I dreaming" then will RC "I am not dreaming" and will do that 2-3 times, and I do all 3 RCs. In waking life, if something seems a little out of place or you question something, do an RC

As for your dream count, yah. On a good week I can recall 12-20+ dreams, and I'm sure a lot of the older members here can do 15-20+ pretty consistently

As dre4m3r said, when you wake up, keep your eyes closed and really try to remember the dream you had. I usually do this because once you get up and start doing things, you'll lose memory of it quickly, but if you lay there and really think about it and remember details, you'll retain the memory longer... maybe so you can get some breakfast before writting it down. However, it'd be best to write some key words to help you remember

A dream I had last night, I wrote these down and then went back to sleep. Upon getting up and writtin gin my DJ, I remembered everything I needed to know:

Campershell. Horses. Quad. Dirt road. Family event

5 simple key words took a few seconds to write down, but I was able to remember the whole dream from those words

And also the key is to remember multiple dreams. you may notice I've recalled 7 dreams in one night, TWICE! I sometimes can rememeber 4-6, but usually I can remember about 3 a night
      Dreams Recalled since 10-31-09: 776
Best Recall in One Night: 8 (12-25-10).
      DILDs: 8 (2-26-11); MILDs: 4 (7-28-10)

I can remember 2 dreams on most nights. But I still have trouble becoming lucid. It's all about practice. Good reality checks, writing down your dreams, and practice is the key to success.

You're just not practicing waking awareness as much as you should be, IMO.

If you're not looking around and really being genuinely skeptical about things, it'll transfer over to your dream and make you completely ignore a dream sign. Once you have a few lucid dreams you'll realize how important that really is. You should RC anywhere you go to make the chances of lucidity as high as possible, because there might not always be a bus or train in your dreams (although it may seem like that right now).
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
