Some Ideas I've Been Working On

i've been having major problems trying to WILD again.

i can sometimes get into the HI/buzzing stage reliably enough, but it never seems to lead anywhere, the problem being that i'm fixated on my body and the real surroundings. i'm trying to train myself to be able to let go of that.

      some thing i've been practicing:

      - visualise what it would be like to be sleeping on the bed in the opposite orientation. thinking about and visualising the furniture in the room and the rest of the world in this new direction. i'm thinking that this might disrupt the connection to reality enough to be able to drift off into lucid dreamland. this i think might work quite well, because tactile sensations won't be conflicting.

      - imagine having an out of body experience, and what i'd see and feel

      - imagining sounds seems particularily good at drawing my attention away from my real self. i guess it takes more concentration for me to do this.

WILD has been the technique that has worked most often for me, and most of my lucid dreams have been because of WILD. That being said, I have gotten pretty good at doing it and can tell you that, at least for me the key is visualization. The problem I first had was that I would get easily distracted from my focus. I would think about doing the WILD, think about my day, or other similar things.

The key for me was to find a focus that would accomplish two things. The first was that it had to be interesting enough that I would not get distracted and the other was that it needed to be simple enough that my mind would just barely stay awake. Since I am an avid Tae Kwon Do participant, the solution was that I would wake up at about 2am or 3am, when I would be tired enough. However, I wouldnt get up and do stuff like the WBTB method, but instead immediatly start visualizing myself doing a TKD form. This would launch me passed the HI part and straight into the falling sensation. Soon I would be in an LD.

So basically what I would reccomend would be to find a focus, which could be yourself doing somthing, dreaming, sleeping or otherwise, but preferably somthing interesting that can keep your attention. Secondly make sure you are pretty tired. I have found that it works almost instantly for me if I am tired but it could take much longer if I just tried it straight when I go to bed. By much longer I mean 4 hours or so.

Good Luck on achieving your WILD and I hope my advice helped a little bit.

what worked for me for the first time was just imagine you are laying down in a grass of fields looking at the clouds pass by. If a thought comes into your mind, then place that thought onto the cloud and watch it float away.very relaxing

Curiosity killed the cat but at least it didnt die an ignorant bastard
