Cool Setting alarms during random times of the night

Ok so when I was experementing with the CAN WILD I found that just setting alarm throughout the night helped my recall tons. Even if I failed the CAN WILD. Just by. Settting alarms a few times (maybe 3 or4 times) I remembered from 3 to 6 dreams a night (Which is good for me because usually I remember 2) and I got lucid a fee times. anyway I was just wondering if anyone else has done this or somehing like this that may help

I had a very similar experince when first using alarms during the night to improve dream recall. After playing aournd with this I found it worked even better if you set your alarms to coincide with the end of a period of REM sleep (roughly 4.5 hours after going to sleep, 6 hours and 7.5 hours). You might need to do a little bit of experimentation with the exact timings, as everyone sleep cycles are slightly different.

But once you've got a regular pattern going, your mind will start to pre-empt the alrams (just like when you wake up a couple of minutes before your alram is set to go off in the morning). This will start to build up a habit of naturally waking up at the end of each dream period, which helps massively with dream recall. Also if you perofrm a RC when you wake up each time, and are doign this a few times per night its a good way to become lucid by catching any false awakenings.

      i concur.

i have tried to find my times based on when i record my dreams, but except for the final period before i get up before work, they seem totally inconsistent. so i just make guesses sometimes and other times drink a lot of water so i get up to pee.

I just can't find the right time to lucid dream
I found I've had lucid dreams on the weekend if I wake up in the morning and wake up accidentally in the morning, I have lucid dreams then

The biggest factor in getting the timing right is how regular your sleeping patterns are. If you're going to bed and getting up at different times every day. If you go to sleep late on one day, or have really tired yourself out that day you'll get less REM sleep that night, and then you'll have rebound effect where you get an extended REM period the next.

Whenver I woke up during the nigth after a dream, I wrote the time I woke next to my entry in my dream journal. If you do this along with recording the time you went to bed and time you woke up, after a while you'll start to see patterns of periods when you have more dreams adn when you have less. Its not 100% perfect match as like I said above it depends on how tired you are, how much sleep you've had lately etc, but it will give you an idea when you're most likely to be in dream periods on any given night.
