Thread: I cant become lucid when Im with someone else

Almost every night I have to share my room and bed with my uncle. He snores incredibly loud or he is on my computer all night or leaves the TV on all night. I barely get sleep and I definitely cant dream well enough to actually become lucid. I wake up constantly because I move a lot in my sleep and I always hit him and it wakes me up.
He moved in after getting out of jail which was about the same time I joined DV. The only two LDs Ive had since then have been on nights that he isnt here.

It was the same for back when I had a gf when I would sleep with her I never had LDs even though I was much more comfortable because we had more room

Damn that gotta suck. Sometimes my moms friend sleeps here and they stay up and talk alot and when she talks..she YELLS. But sounds like it's 10 times worse for you
Cant he sleep on a couch or something? :p

Every room has two people in it and on of my sisters sleeps on the couch in the living room. we are packed. But by january I will be in a new house and he will still be here and I will be alone for the week but not on weekends when my little step brother will be over but thats just weekends so its ok

Ok, it's pretty packed here too, plus I have a cat that wants to annoy me when I sleep :p

that sucks man. Man i wish my gf woulnt have traded me out for someone new. I would walk down there tonight and sleep with her I would feel better but still probably wouldnt have very long dreams.

I don't have a problem. I share my bed with my wife and a pug dog who snores very loud all night and walks around bed sometimes. I tihnk you just have to get used to it. Just keep trying.

if you have a sleeping bag or extra blanket, you could sleep on the floor

haha but like I said even when I was still with my ex and we would sleep on the floor I couldnt remember dreams. AND she is much less annoying when she sleeps than my uncle

hmm... there's always outside! do you have a tent?

haha its startin to get cold outside and i dont think I do

If you can, buy some ear plugs and a blindfold. This should help.

And if you can in anyway change your sleeping cycle, then do that, I guess.

a $2.00 sleeping mask and a pair of cheap earplugs can make all the difference in the world. a small fan close to your bed can also provide some masking white noise.

plus, tell him to quit being so rude.

Im gonna be so happy when i move into the new house that is getting built and i wont have to deal with it anymore
