      Interesting VILD attempt

I was trying out arby's method of VILDing (thanks for the tutorial!) at about 9 oclock on a day when I was ill. I know I was very close to being in the dream, after a while everything was getting dreamy and more vivid but I didnt quite get to sleep even though I was very close to dreaming. I got close and I think with practise I will be able to do it. The interesting thing was that when I got out of bed and went downstairs I felt very much like I was dreaming still, nothing quite seemed right... I know it wasnt a false awakening because it wore off after about 30-60 minutes. I think it might have something to do with being ill but does anyone know what this might be? Thanks alot

Interesting experience! Personally I have yet to LD via any method, so I'm not qualified to speculate on what it may have been, but I'm trying the same method right now -- I recently read arby's VILD tutorial as well, and I've made a couple attempts so far, I'm very interested in VILD. Now I'm inspired to try again tonight. I do see a big change in my dreams when I'm sick, so maybe it's as you suspect. Hopefully someone experienced can offer more insight.

Out of curiosity, what scenario were you visualizing?

I wanted to try something practical yet entertaining, so my visualisation took place on a fairly large hill at some sort of camp around a fire. I sat there for quite a long time, disscussing all sorts with a dream character sat next to me. I didnt have too much control any more so we went down a big staircase made out of rough stone and arrived at a big lake. We started to fish (something which Ive never done in real life) and I found that my subconcious made it very easy for me as I caught about 3 huge koi fish. My friend whom I had bee ntalking to managed one fish and so we decided to go back to the camp. A small, helpful man came and took all our equipment for us, and on the way back up to the camp I found I couldnt try to sleep any more because Id been here for hours and had more than enough sleep. All that dreaming on that day meant I only had 4 hours sleep the next. Consequently last night I slept like the dead and can only recall commenting on a rap song's appauling grammar in my dreams.
      Thanks for your comment!

Well as I walked down the stairs I felt very light, almost as if I was floating, alot of things seemed slightly abnormal, for instance everything was very vivid which happens alot when im ill but the visualisation made it more intense. There was also a big amount of awareness because I was walking naturally without thinking about it while my mind was swarming with thoughts of how dreamlike this is. It was very interesting indeed.
      Thanks for your comment too!
