      WILD? Oh so confusing...

Ok, so I did a WBTB, set a short alarm for 6 hours after I went to sleep, tried a FILD upon waking, failed that, got up, went on dreamviews for around half an hour, tried to recall previous dreams that night, went back to bed.

I remember not being able to get back to sleep for ages, and I may have eventully drifted off, I'm not sure. But I do remember, and I have NO idea whether this was part of some dream I was having after I got to sleep; I suddenly heard a voice, talking, said about a sentence which unsettled me slightly. And then suddenly there were these huge vibrations, quite uncomfortable and causing slight pain in my hips, very very intense shudderings, happened about twice and then I had this image before my eyes that gradually became clearer of flying over a big field and forests, and then before I know it I'm in my room and totally aware that I'm dreaming, and struggle to remain lucid before the excitement gets to me and I wake up.

Or at least, it is a false awakening, and I sleep in for another couple of hours, having several bizarre non-lucid dreams about the strange WILD sensations, because in the dream I was absolutely convinced I had WILDed. And now those dreams have left me quite unsure what happened.

So what do you think? I thought it matched WILD descriptions, but it could have all been in my head. Do those intense shuddering vibrations match other people's experiences? (although I appreciate it's different for everyone) I want to know whether I had a successful WILD or not...

It sounds like you were experiencing sleep paralysis, you had all of the 'classic' tells; vibrations, noises, and hypnagogic imagery, etc. It also sounds like you experienced a lucid dream but like most beginners your excitement overwhelmed you and pulled you right out, indeed it does sound like a successful WILD.

Yep, a successful WILD in my opinion. If you went through the transitory stage, and then right into the dream lucid, then it is considered a WILD by me.
