      Question Concerned with Improvement

Currently I become lucid around 2-3 times every week. I am quite satisfied with my progress since I started taking LDing seriously early this last summer. I use a style of DILD consisting of reality checks, general awareness, mantras, meditation, and natural WBTB when I can.

Before I learned about LDing I would have maybe one every couple years. When I learned about it a few years ago that rate probably doubled to one every year, and once I started actively trying to LD there was noticeable improvement for several months until I got to the point I am at now. The thing is, I have noticed very little improvement from that point to now.

Here is my main question: Will I eventually improve if I continue to practice my current method with consistency, or will I have to increase the amount of effort I put into LDing if I want more lucids? I realize that this probably varies from person to person, but I value everyone's own subjective opinions on the matter.

      Thank you in advance.

My take is that one needs to put in a consistent amount of effort. With practice, some things gets easier and more routine. That frees up some attention to spend on new things. So you don't necessarily need to work harder. You just need to be more and more ambitious with setting new goals to challenge yourself.
I am sure about illusion. I am not so sure about reality.

I believe that the more you do it the more naturally it comes to you. I go in and out of phases of being lucid a lot, and not being lucid very often. This usually directly relates to how stressful daily life is at the time, honestly.

Also, I've tried many lucid dream induction techniques. Lots of them have worked for me, however, I don't really do them anymore. After so long, I just have them naturally and at random. Sometimes a lot, sometimes not. Some people have them every night. There is no way for anyone to say whether or not you will have to put in more effort, or whether or not you will continue to have them more and more frequently. It's all up to you!
