      FTP

Mine is FTP (Finger Through Palm). But I'm starting to do it so automatically that I'm afraid it loses the meaning.

I'm looking for something that really makes me question if I'm awake or not. (maybe running and trying to pass through a concrete wall - hehehe )

Anyway, FTP worked for me in a LD.

For me, I just see if I remember anything previous to that moment. I've learned now to notice when my last memory was falling asleep, so I basically go lucid upon entering the dream.

I think there was a thread about this recently... Anyway, my favourite RC is the breathing test, pinch your nose and try to breath through it, as it has never failed in my dreams.

Mine is flying. If I suspect that I'm dreaming, I just try to lift of the ground and float or fly. It always seems to work, and it leaves no doubt that I'm dreaming.

That seems like it would be the best way. How did you learn this?

It's pretty easy, really. My latest method I use allows me to just remember it easily. It sort of lets you remember real life more easily in dreams, as well as shape the dream more easily. So, when I do it, I realize I'm dreaming upon entering each dream.

I like spinning around. I usually only do this if i'm pretty sure that i'm dreaming. Otherwise I don't really bother to RT.

My personal favorite is the jumping test, whenever you see a high place (ie. top of a building, steep cliff, etc...) just run and jump off, if you can fly, well your dreaming, (so far iv flown every time, so this is a good reality check for me.)

Well, I dunno if it's every dream, but most of them are. I'm only a DG because they don't make people mods based on their skill in LDing alone. I probably will get a higher position eventually, though. I think.

      trouble

I'm having a lot of trouble with this. Recently I had a dream in which I was talking to a friend's mother about lucid dreaming. I was holding 2 watches, one which was broken, and the other didn't have hands. I then told her that this was an example of a dreamsign. Upon awakening, I thought 'ok I was talking to Kyle's mom about... F#@K!! I think the most important thing I'm forgetting is frequent reality checks during the day, but any suggestions would probably be helpful.

Sounds like a sure thing. Flying leaves little doubt. It’s just that I fly in my non
Lucid dreams so I guess it would be better practiced in the waking world so it has an awaking effect.

Deffo FTP or breathing through my nose. (although the first time I tried to use this I was still half asleep and wasn't thinking in a straight line so I didnt even pinch my nose, just pressed lightly and got really excited when i could still breathe, I was like: then: and then I realised and was like: .....

Oh I love emoticons, they say it all really...

Just wanted to update this -- lately I've been trying the "breathing through pinched nose" method, and it seems to work perfectly 100% of the time. This is my new favorite RC, althought it's still not something that I remember to do in my dreams unless I already suspect I'm dreaming. I'm hoping, though, that since it's so easy to do, I can get in the habit of doing it regularly and it will carry over into my non-lucid dreams.

BTPN (breathe through pinched nose) has given me my last two LDs. I guess I've also been a little more motivated to do RCs. I've learned that it's not enough to think about doing an RC. Whenever you think of the term "reality check", don't just brush it off or think you'll do it later. Stop and do an RC. That way, you're less likely to miss one if you're dreaming.

I just ask my self if I'm dreaming then look around at where I am, this RC works 100% of the time for me, it did fail once though, but the dream was really vivid, and I didn't pay much attention, because my mom was talkin to me, I did become lucid later though, in the bathroom, when I looked at my fingers through the mirrir, they looked weird.

mine is jumping. Usually when you jump in a dream you start flying or floating or teleporting, etc. It works pretty good as ftp(finger through palm).

      .
Is there anybody here unique that knows a good way for reality check...

Lately I've been doing whichever of the following I can without inconveniencing myself:

      Counting my fingers
      Looking for my reflection
Checking the time and then checking it again
      Reading small print
      Flipping light switches

Those are usually followed by remembering how I got to where I am right now.

I do reality checks like every 5-15 minutes so I get good results with them.

I've always done nose pinching and it finally worked a few days ago. I had just given up on dreaming, but then it just worked out of nowhere, I guess my subconscience WBTB'd and I did one of those. The feeling you get is quite exhilarating and caused me to run without thinking. Then I woke up. But it's strange, because I looked at a clock right before I woke up and it read "open." So I guess my conscience likes one method and my conscience likes another. Wouldn't be the first time!
This is where my sig goes.
