I'll just quickly share a RC method I've thought of, for people who almost always dream about some place other than their real lives. I'm pretty sure this method is used, but not so specifically. It's a bit like a history check.

Choose a place that you very often are, or an activity you're often doing. Likely something mundane. For me, it's sitting here in this computer chair. Use the same scenario every time. For the RC, mentally make a connection between that scenario and what you're doing now, going either into the past or the future. For example, if I'm on a walk, I'll remember that I was at the computer chair just a few minutes ago, then got ready and went on this walk. Alternatively, I'll think about my plan to go back to the computer when I get home.

If you’re someone, like me, who rarely dreams about real life, this method will work close to 100% accurately if you use it in a dream. As soon as you try to make the mental connection between where you are and that predetermined activity from your daily life, you’ll know that you’re dreaming because there is no possible connection. The benefits are that it’s quick (once you get efficient at it it only takes about a second) and doesn’t require doing anything physically.
