That happens to be a lot as well. If you can do something like a WILD, they are usually far clearer than normal dreams, and you might have good results with them. Or you can try going back to sleep right after waking up. If you do, the second dream can often be clearer as well.
As far as I know you can't really control if you experience sleep paralysis after waking up from a dream. You can remain still, and try to stay relaxed and hope to fall right back to sleep though.
There are a few other methods you can use while in a dream though. You can try focusing on objects and really looking it over. You can spin around really quickly. One I like is pushing yourself through a mirror. Another method I have never had the chance to try but may work is try jumping off something, and the falling sensation may help. The last three you need to be careful of false awakenings. You might think you failed and wake up but often times you are still dreaming.
