      Need advice for DEILD.

I have been trying to DEILD for about a week now. I am very good at awakening after my dream. I catch myself aware that I am lying with my eyes closed like 2 - 4 times per night. I have good dream recall too and my dreams are kinda vivid, that's why I decided to try DEILD. At my first try i got into SP, but it ended soon and I was not dreaming. (It was not false awaking, I did Reality Check). All the other times I managed to wake up, not move even an inch, don't open my eyes, but I stll layed in my bed for like 5 minutes with nothing happening. Yesterday after trying DEILD and failing, I decided to sleep, but coudn't fall asleep for like an hour, i got pretty pissed, so I decided that I will ask you, guys for advices. So, any?

P.S. Maybe I can't deild, because I sleep for like 7 - 9 hours every night. I heard that lack of sleep may help you to perfrom DEILD. Thanks ;D
      My opinion:
*Lucid Dreams, OBEs, Astral Projections are one and the same.
*There are no levels of lucidity. Quality changes if you apply some deepening.
*Lucid Dreams do not last more than 20 minutes.
      *Wolves are beautiful.

I hope so. i try this once or twice every night. it doesn't seem like i've made any progress, besides dream recall and waking up a lot. ;D

ok i just successfully did the DEILD tech. again last night. you "wake up" but DON'T OPEN YOUR EYES. now relax.. you may feel intense vibrations, hypnagogia, etc... picture the dream you would like to see, while repeating in your head "i will have lucid dreams" or "i am lucid dreaming" (i always use the mnemonic tech. - it is really successful).. five or ten minutes isn't long enough sometimes! try to go as long as you can. don't think to hard and RELAX. let yourself fall asleep while still clinging to the slightest bit of awareness.. when i dream chain (or DEILD) i often don't think and just let myself fall back asleep with the intention of going lucid. and as soon as a dream starts, i become lucid very quickly. let the natural process of your body do the work. you just add your intent. i hope this helps.

oh and if you can't fall asleep, definitely lay in the same spot (or even flip over on your back), and try meditation. circular breathing, (inhale with your tummy/diaphragm - exhale with your chest) and relax each part of your body individually, look at a point a few inches from your nose (with eyes closed of course) and just focus on your breathing.. this will help you enter hypnogogia, sleep paralysis may occur, and if you combine this meditation with the MILD tech. you are basically assured to have some lucid dreams going on. or whatever you focus on. even OBE.

one last thing.. DEILD is full of false awakenings.. so if you let yourself fall asleep, you may just start having a new dream because you think its real. don't forget to do some sort of reality check.. or just keep a strong intention of being lucid. good luck!
