Totems were used in the movie Inception in order to figure out if you're in your own dream. Since you are not shared dreaming with other people, you don't need a totem. However, it can be used as a reminder to RC throughout the day. |

I just found this site, so i kinda wonder how much as this site grown since that movie came out??? That movie doesn't deal MUCH at lucid dreaming at all..... |

That probably wouldn't work either. If it's always in your right pocket you aren't going to pull it out of your left pocket in a dream. You could, maybe, continuously check in your left pocket for the item. That would be no more effective than any other RC though, and likely less effective. If you're going to go through that kind of trouble you might as well use your "totem" as a reminder to do a real reality check like the nose pinch. |

In all honesty guys it's really not about relying on a single reality check to induce lucid dreams, it's about raising your awareness. Always be asking yourself where you are what you're doing and why you're doing it. That's the key |

The Key is to combine your waking rational abilities with the infinite possibilities of your dreams, because if you can do that, you can do anything.
