      Preparation for lucidity

Is there any way to prepare at night before bed that will give me a higher chance of having a DILD sometime throughout the night?

Dark room. Deep breathing, count breaths, when you feel spining or sliding go with it. That's for a WILD.

The most important thing is to get a good night's sleep. That means controlling the environment to be comfortable and relieving any stress, emotion, or excitement that could disturb your sleep.

Next, it's good to prepare your dream journal. It will depend on what kind of dream journal you use: paper, voice, phone, whatever. Develop a regular ritual of where you place it, which pen you use, etc. Write the date and the time you are going to bed, and any other useful daily notes like if you ate or did anything unusual or experimental.

Finally, review your goals for that night. What is your target number of dreams to recall? What dreamsigns will you look for? What place or situation would you like to dream about? What task or feat would you like to complete when you become lucid? If you do WBTB, what will you do while you are awake? Develop your own questions and goals if you like, but be specific and pick one goal for each category each night. Even better if you write them down or speak them aloud. You can change them each night or pursue the same one until you achieve it.
I am sure about illusion. I am not so sure about reality.
