I have been keeping a dream journal for the past month, from the 5th of April to last night, the 30th-1st May. Every night has had at least one dream, save two nights, which just didn't have any. Most nights have at least 3 dreams, sometimes 5. |

If you still want to go for the WILD technique, I would suggest keep at it, and when you go into SP, be confident that you will have a lucid dream. Feelings like excitement, anxiety, etc, can cause you to lose SP. Rather than getting excited when you get close, you should try to be confident that it will work in the first place. |
Yes, when I eventually enter S.P., I don't get excited per say, more that my heart starts beating very hard and faster. The first time it happened I was scared about the hallucinations that I heard about, so I pretty much shut it off straight away. The second time I had more balls, but nothing came of it. The third time I just felt it coming, and knew what to expect. |

Wait, wait, wait. Are you doing WBTB? |
My opinion:
*Lucid Dreams, OBEs, Astral Projections are one and the same.
*There are no levels of lucidity. Quality changes if you apply some deepening.
*Lucid Dreams do not last more than 20 minutes.
*Wolves are beautiful.

Yes, sorta. I do set my alarm to go off before my known REM cycle (found it by accident one night), and I do sit up in bed, look at the clock, check my phone, then lay back down. |

Also, Purebred, I assume you have had some experience with OBE's then? Can you tell me what it's like, any tips you have? |
first 50 pages are enough. it will take only 30 minutes. Try it. ;D |

Errm.. just remember that motivation and effort are the 2 most important prequisites for lucid dreaming. |
DO NOT try to WILD at night. Your body and mind are chemically geared for resting and healing. Set your alarm for 5-6 hours after you fall asleep, when your body has rested itself and your REM cycles are significantly longer than any other time during sleep. Use the WBTB method - get up and out of bed and go read, meditate, or something that will wake your mind up a bit and get you focused on lucid dreaming. Then go back to bed and try WILD'ing. I guarantee that your success rate will shoot up doing this. Use your time going to bed at night for sleeping. It is not a fruitful time for dreams. |
I think WBTB and WILDing have failed me. At the beginning it seemed to work to some degree, but with increasing numbers of failures and a waining belief in them working has, I think, prevented them from working for me. |
This is all too much to take in.. I can't decide on what I should try out first, or what I should be doing first. |
It appears you are attempting the WILD technique. |
Wow, this thread is all over the place. I think most people who are attempting to force a lucid dream are trying too hard. Doing RC's during the hours leading up to sleep help. Deep breathing and relaxation techniques help. Visualizing a relaxing scenario helps. It will come when it comes. Good luck to you! |
ARGH! I can't make it happen you say? That's the worst news ever. I have to wait for it and keep trying? Dammit! |
Try Stephen Laberge's MILD technique. If you truly tune yourself into that stuff you'll be lucid dreaming very soon. |
