Tonight I induced an LD by suggestion as I was going to sleep, just thinking to myself, "I will have an LD tonight, and I will do X (in this case, ask a DC questions)." That kind of suggestion might be useful for experienced LDers in a dry spell--just think it, then let go of the thought so it doesn't keep you awake.

It occurs to me, though, that suggestion probably helped me stumble into LDing when I didn't even know what it was. Around the time I started having LDs, I'd been experimenting with dreams, thinking about a person I'd like to meet or a setting just before bed. On at least one occasion, that person became a dream sign (tho I didn't know what it was at the time)--"Ah, there you are, so I must be dreaming." For new people having trouble, this might make a good intermediate step to true LDs.
