      Post DILD Pointers

      Hey guys!

So I've been working at lucid dreaming for years. Going on my 4th year soon, actually. Sad to admit that I've only got just shy of 20 lucid dreams under my belt. I've tried a dozen techniques - from WILDs, to DILDS, and several experimental techniques from the forum as well. The only lucid dreams I seem to have are random DILDs. In fact, all my dreams have been DILDs, with the exception of one WILD. I'm a university student - currently at a full-time job - so I don't really have the chance to lose sleep with WILD techniques.

I'm really interested in seeing what helps you attain lucidity the most, and maybe even compiling a list of "Common Techniques" that I can use. I already know about reality checks, but I don't do them frequent enough (because I rarely remember them in my dreams), so I'm currently trying to improve that. But is that all there is to it? Is there more I could be doing to help my in-dream awareness? Looking forward to your replies!

      Hey ASmitt .

Here's a List of tutorials, that you may or may not have read, but they will definitely help you:

      DILD Tutorials

      -All Day Awareness by KingYoshi
      -Puffin's DILD Guide
      -Naiya's DILD and WILD secrets
      -Wiki DILD Tutorial

Basically the whole idea is to stay aware throughout the day, constantly reminding yourself to do reality checks. Ask your self "How did I get here?" whenever you walk through a door, or use the bathroom, etc.

I recommend writing RC on your hand or put sticky notes around your house to remind yourself to do reality checks. One big problem when people do reality checks, is that they don't believe it will work when doing the check. For example, if you do the nose pinching reality check you have to believe you can breath through your nose while pinched or else it won't work in a dream!

Pay attention to objects, and the scenery around you. What does everything look like? Taste like? Feel like? Smell like? You just have to remind yourself to be aware randomly throughout the day. Also how is your recall? Do you have any dream signs?

Also be confident! I always say confidence is the key when it comes to lucid dreaming! Believe you can lucid dream and you will! Persuade yourself your already the best lucid dreamer in the world, and you will have them every night.

If you think DILD isn't right for you, I would recommend you to try out the MILD technique. Naiya just wrote an amazing MILD guide you can view here: http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/naiyas...hnique-119050/

If you have any more questions feel free to PM me or post them here!

Anyway, good luck! You WILL have lucid dreams soon, and just keep at it! Don't give up!

      Thanks Mancon!

I've gone through some of those tutorials already, but I'll re-read them (and the ones I haven't read) before I call it a night tonight! About the RCs - you just reminded me of a site that lets you send text messages into the future. All I'll need to do is remember what site I used, and randomly throw in some times and messages like "Are you dreaming?". Although, I do like the idea of having my house littered with sticky notes...

As for Naiya's MILD Technique. I thought MILDs were all about reality checks in your dream, also linked to DILD. I'll have to read more into it!

Thanks again, I'll post my results!

No problem! I have heard of that site. Is it this one?
Also having lime screen sticky notes covering your walls is amazing

Yeah, MILD is not about doing reality checks in your dreams. Naiya's tutorial explains it all

      Again, good luck!

No, not the site I used, but I'll be using it now!!! =D
Now that I've gone through Naiyta's tutorial, I can see what you mean! That really sounds like it has promise. I'm just so impatient and didn't like the part about it possibly taking 2 months... Especially after so much time spent failing! Oh well, 2 months of practice is better than 2 months of no chance of lucid dreams, right? Hahah
