First Lucid Dream! (Maybe :) )

Well people i had my first lucid dream yesterday

In real life i was hanging out at a party for a night, and didnt go to sleep for the next day to be tired enough to sleep (had to go to work today) well, then i went to sleep and said "When i dream i will know im dreaming." one single time.
Well i smoked Cannabis that day and the day before.
I think cannabis+Being reaaalllyy tired+having time to sleep for about 15 hours without disturbing noises/people is the key to lucidity.
I dont really remember everything and i dont want to write it down, just wanted to tell some things from that dream.
I flew very often and said to myself 3 times "i am dreaming!" and well i was dreaming, wasnt so vivid than i thought, was nothing like reality but hey...

I think i was thinking i was lucid and did some of the things i would do if i became lucid.
But it was cool and i was hoping "i hope i can keep that nice ecstasy pill i got from my co worker, in real life " Well i thought about taking lsd in a dream just in the moment i was laying down before falling asleep
falling asleep only took 2-3 minutes. If even that long. very happy to try it tonight agai

Congrats on getting lucid. However, you don't need to add cannabis into the equation. Sleep deprivation + Intention + A quiet place to sleep = Easier access to lucidity. When I first started lucid dreaming I'd intentionally stay awake all night and all the next day until bedtime again. I'd almost always hit some level of lucidity right off the bat when I finally laid down to sleep. We used to call it the lazy man's way to lucidity (even though saying up for 24+ hours took a lot of work)

ps. I am not promoting this method of attaining lucidity so don't come back blaming me if you attempt it and end up injured in some way due to the clumsiness brought on by sleep deprivation

Is it the feeling of being totally drained or just exhausted that helps lucidity? That way instead of staying up a whole night, then can we instead just do some vigorous exercise right before bed, to drain those last energy reserves?

People manage to have lucid dreams without doing drugs or being sleep deprived, so obviously neither are the key to lucid dreaming. However they must help in some way if they worked.

In my case, the sleep deprivation brought on almost horrendously vivid hypnagogic imagery that sucked me straight into a dream either fully aware or becoming aware a few moments reaching dream state. I've never tried to exhaust myself through exercise but would be interested to know if doing so would lead to easier instances of lucidity.

I believe the key to lucid dreaming is practice using a safe and healthy approach. When I first started I tried almost everything to get lucid just to see if it worked or how it would affect my lucid state. Some of the things I tried in the past probably weren't healthy but I did it all in the name of learning. Like I said, I'm not promoting sleep deprivation as a means to getting lucid. I simply mentioned that I used it in the past and it worked for me.
