      Dreams are like hypothetical thoughts...

I've been reviewing my dream journal, and I've come upon an interesting issue for me. It seems that many of my dreams, I kind of know that I'm dreaming already, but not really at the point where I go lucid. I feel like my dreams are just my mind running through hypothetical situations. Like the other night in my dream, I was being car jacked. I wasn't afraid, and I almost feel like I was making certain things happen. Again last night, I recall feeling this same way, where I knew it wasn't real, but I didn't realize that it was me dreaming.

Is there a way that I can use this for going lucid? What excersizes could I do during the day to turn these into full fledged lucid dreams? It seems if I could tap into that, then I could probably go lucid every night.

      Thanks!

Happens to me all the time too.

I'll think things in my dreams like "as soon as you turn your back on something in one of these things it tends to disappear" - but somehow I don't make the connection that "these things" are actually dreams!!! So frustrating.

Sorry, I can't help with how to use that to get lucid - I haven't been able to do it. Just wanted to sympathize with you on it.

Am I the only one that doesn't get this, if I am non lucid, I litterally have no clue that I am dreaming, it's just like an adventure story I am discovering when I wake up.

Just start being more aware of your every day life and your surroundings. There will come a time you'll look around and realize everything is not as it should seem, then BAM - you're lucid.

Well, I am trying to be more aware in my waking life, but it seems that I should more easily be able to go lucid from these dreams. Maybe a montra about my mind doing hypotheticals. I don't know what would be effective though. Any ideas?

I'm trying to come up with some decent mantras I could use. Tell me what you think, or if you've got a better idea.

I will realize I'm dreaming when I'm thinking about hypothetical situations.

This one seems too long though.

I really feel like I could harness this, since it seems like its right on the edge of being lucid. I need some more ideas of what I could try. I'm starting to average a lucid dream about every 4-5 days, and I think they usually come from dreams like this where I'm already realizing that its not real, but not really aware that I'm dreaming.

one great reality check to do is this, every hour ask yourself "am i dreaming or awake? what days is it and what am i doing right now?" Also use it in any awkward situation you happen to face. It will carry over into your dreams. its my fav reality check because it really forces you do use your brain to find out whats going on. Good luck and try this for a couple weeks you will have results

edit: make sure to follow it with a finger through the palm or another reality check it help bring you to a higher level of lucidity
