      Closer?

Okay, I tried WBTB-ing again, now trying to have an inner conversation with myself, rather than counting or something. After a really long time of uncomfortableness, I felt something... My heart was beating so fast. And then it got even faster. However, I felt totally normal besides this. I thought this may be a sign of SP, as I heard some of other people had this SP sign. However, I haven't felt any numbness or similar.. Not even heaviness. Maybe that was only the start of the SP?

However, my darned eyes started opening, and I tried closing them, but they opened again. I wasn't controlling it! And a few second passed, the hard heartbeating fainted...

Now, I have some questions. Is this really a sign of SP or my heart just chose to beat fast? Why have I not felt other SP symptoms? Is it because this one may be the starting one, and then later I feel numb? Oh, and I never experienced anything of SP before, so I guess this is a step forward in my LD-ing career.

People experience SP in different ways and a rapid heartbeat is not uncommon. SP usually ends in one of three ways:
      1. You could be enveloped in your dream scene (you would know that this is happeneing).
      2. You could just wake up, your body being unable to completely fall asleep brings you back to conciousness.
      3. The third, most likely, and most confusing option is a false awakening. When all of the symptoms of your SP dissapear and you are lying in your bed there is a good chance that you are actually in a dream! The next time this happens sit up slowly and do some RCs. Happy dreaming!

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

Yeah, I checked if it was a FA. However, I didn't feel the transition or anytyhing, because my eyes were opening on themselves during the heartbeating, I never got to the tingling sensations and feeling heaviness.

The feeling of your heart beating fast is a sign of SP. Relax and just know that nothing's going to happen to you. Remember that every night, your body goes through the same steps but without you being awake. This is a natural process. However, people have said it is not your heart actually beating really fast, just Hypnogogic Hallucinations. Keep at it! If it helps you relax, try getting into SP in the afternoon, first. Soon, you'll be able to get into SP without this weird sensation
