My trick of becoming lucid is the RC's i do. I always remember this "As soon as i wake up i will performe a Reality Check."
The body going to sleep thing is called Sleep Paralyzis. It happens every night but it's just that most of the times your mind will fall asleep first. When the opposite happens (Your body falls asleep but not your mind) You will start feeling the paralyzis going through your body. Example is: You cant move (obviously), you will feel "vibrations" all over your body (most of the times) and stuff like loud noises or other things like voices.

Everyone have the ability to control their enviroment but not everyone have learned how to do it so it's just about practise and patience.
