I can't see my hands in dreams

First of all I learned the finger through hand reality check thing, but I noticed now that in my dreams I can almost never see my hands, and In some of my first Lucid Dreams (DILD) I tried to do the reality check but It wouldn't let me since I couldn't see my hands when I wanted to, but If i focus on something else I remember I had hands in the corner of my eye
I also did some random rolling / jumping in that Lucid Dream, the gravity was different like it should be but It didn't make me more lucid, and as the lucidity started to fade away the only thing that increased lucidity was when I reached for the floor, like i kneeled down and just looked at the floor. That was the easiest way for me to think a bit more.
I did that 3 times and it would give me some more lucidity but then I wanted to try something different so I turned around and spawned a DC and after a while it became. a normal dream

I guess i need to stabilize my dreams better, and what do you think of kneeling and looking at the floor? It worked pretty good for a while. This was an DILD, my 4th LD and it happened some week ago.

Yeah im with you on the hand one, i've only seen my hands once in a dream, which led to a failed reality check. I tend to do random RC's now, i'll use whatevers in viewing distance to test reality, e.g. make words or letters change, make things float or dissapear by looking away and looking back, you can do anything you like, it sure as hell is a lot more interesting than poking your hand all day, and for me seems to work better.

You could always use the fact that your hands are missing as its own reality check. In waking life your hands obviously aren't going to just disappear unless you've been in some sort of accident or were born this way, which is doesn't sound like you were. Just look down and, if you don't have any hands, you're dreaming! You can always follow it up with another RC such as looking at a clock, turning away, then looking back, as well as looking at text. Once you are lucid you will likely be able to get your hands back just by thinking about them which will then allow you to do everything you would need them for.

The only reality check I use is the "hold your nose and try to breathe through it." Out of like 500+ dreams I've done it in it failed maybe 5 times (because I had a cold in the real world and my nose was stopped up!). Also out of all the reality checkers its the one that seems least stupid when you're doing it in public (just looks like you're rubbing your nose).

When you say 'lucid' do you mean 'vivid' or 'aware that you're dreaming'? It sounds as though you mean the former, even though lucidity usually applies to the latter. They are different things. In fact, I often find they're reciprocal to one another. You can be entirely aware that you're asleep in bed while the world around you is dark and fuzzy, or you can be semi-lucid and believe that your actions have consequences while the world appears as vivid as in real life.

I've had great success lately reality checking with one hand, counting fingers. I say, I have 6 fingers, look at my hand, and if there is, im dreaming, simple. Has worked great for me, less awkward than using two hands, and I guess you kick in the logic system or whatever from counting.

When I do RC's they always involve my hands so I'm never at a lack of hands XD. I normally do the finger through the hand trick but I started just rubbing my hands as a RC. Because when i rub my hands together it doesn't feel like their touching. It feels like 2 magnets of the same polarity forcing each other away and because of this is works really nice for me.
