      Im i doing it right?

hi there i have been trying to lucid for only 3 weeks and started out with no dream recall, not remembering anything the mornings i woke up then after some great tips on this forum and after 2 days i can remember from 3-4 dreams in great detail each morning so thanks!
but now i wonder if i do things right with getting lucid. because now i am trying the MILD and i have read to manny techniques so i think i am a bit lost what i do now is that take 5-10 minutes to clearing my mind of all daily troubles and then getting myselfe in a comfortable possition and closing my eyes and trying to visualize a dream scene from past dreams and repeating to myselfe from breath in "IM" and out "Dreaming" and suddenly i just fall asleep and dream like normal and wake up and write som sides in my Dream Journal i am also trying to do as mutch RCing through the day with clamping my nose and trying to breathe and looking around and checking things out to make shure that i am realy awake

so i am asking if i mabye have misunderstood something or if annyone have some tips or pointers for me

Hi . In my opinion this is one of my favorite MILD guides and I recommend you take a look at it. It will tell you everything you should do.

Also, it sounds about right. Remember that it takes people different times to get lucid. Some have their first lucid within a day, others within a few months. Just keep doing what you are doing and stick with it. It might take you a bit longer, but you will have your first lucid soon!

Yes it takes different people different requirements. Your technique sounds correct, one of the issues could have been that you were too sleepy still. You didn't wake up enough before attempting to MILD. I have to wake up a fair amount in order for me to successfully MILD

Becoming lucid requires an innate belief that you will become lucid. Don't stress over it. You are doing everything right. It is one of those things that; if you want it too badly, it becomes harder to attain.

      My advice:
Try out techniques to see if they work for you. MILD, WILD, FILD, VILD, DEILD, DILD, ADA, EILD, and others. However, a mistake I make is not actually trying them out for more than a few days at a time. At the very LEAST when giving a technique a shot give it a month. However, some can be worked on simultaneously, like doing ADA in the day and WILD at night.
For me, DILD is inconsistent but nevertheless yields the most lucids, WILD is harder to obtain but can give consistently, FILD seems to have a high success rate for me and delivers the most vivid dreams, with enough practice MILD gives lucids consistently, and I haven't given the others a good shot. Other than that don't constrain yourself to someone else's technique, maybe just use them as a guideline. Experiment and find out what works for you, and in a while you may have your own technique to share.
Other than that you are doing well, always keep up the dj and reality checks, even if you feel like you don't need them anymore. You don't realize how much they help until you watch your average amount of monthly lucids plummet, I know this from experience.
