      Dream Remembrance.

So I've have been trying to go lucid, but school has gotten in the way so I'm going to put it off until summer.. Anyways when I was trying to go lucid, I wrote down my dreams ( like everyone else ) and realized that as soon as I wake up I don't remember my dreams. but it's somewhere around 20 minutes after i wake up, it just hits me, and I start remembering. One time it was even in the middle of the day at school. To get to the point I just really want to DEILD, and if I don't remember my last dream, or that I just came out of one, then can I?

Unless you're capable of realizing the moment you wake up, you won't be able to DEILD simply. You don't necessarily have to remember waking up from a dream, but you have to be able to become aware and hold still right after waking up. If you can't do that naturally, then it's still possible to DEILD with the use of an alarm. You would need an alarm that can turn itself off after a few seconds and train yourself to hold still right when this wakes you up.

Thanks man I really appreciate. Oh and one more question. if I had started a DJ, and then stopped going for a LD. Can I get rid of those entry's then start another once summer beings, or still keep these?

Are you asking if you should stop writing in your dream journal until the next time you try to lucid dream? I think you should keep writing in your journal to increase your dream recall. You wouldn't want to have to start all over again the next time you try to lucid dream.

Jogging phantom memory ( and what is more elusive then remembering a dream that was not intended to be remembered?) is tricky. The human brain assimilates things it was exposed to in the day prior during dreams that night. One trick I have learned to recall dreams is simply to think about what you experienced the day before. These experiences have a tendency to show up in dreams. Anyhoo, just a thought!

Try putting a sticky note right by your bed (will you will first see it) that says "DREAMS". This helps me remember dreams right away, often. Hope it helps you!
