      Sleep Paralysis makes me uncomfortable.

This morning, I woke up with sleep paralysis. I was only able to move my fingers and toes, and could move my lips (but no sound came out). I constantly moved them in an effort to snap out of it. I realized that I could use the paralysis to enter a lucid dream. So, I stopped moving my fingers, toes, and lips, and try to relax. The moment I relaxed, my fan suddenly got very loud, and I began hearing a loud rumbling sound. My head felt like it was going to explode; this feeling in my head made me feel uncomfortable. I began to panic, and began moving my fingers. I eventually snapped out of the paralysis. Now, I regret not going through the paralysis.

How can I get into a lucid dream from Sleep Paralysis as quickly as possible?

In my opinion you did everything just fine, but the problem was your fan... If you hear such a loud sound (or someone would switch the lights on or something like this) your body will always wake up...
Another thing is, that eventually you'll get used to that feeling. When I first experienced it I was scared as hell but now I kind of like it.

Sleep Paralysis is just one method of inducing a lucid dream. Try some other ones... WILD is a good one. I use visualization and progressive muscle relaxation technique... a form of self-hypnosis. Personally, I think SP is over-rated.

Once SP sets in a dream has already begun to form. All you need to do is switch your focus away from your body and into the dream. You can try moving your dream body or you can just imagine the dream you want to be in. SP may be uncomfortable from time to time, but it can't hurt you in any way. Once you become more familiar with SP you can pass right through it without even noticing it.

You have mentioned "try moving your dream body". How can I do this? Should I attempt to move my physical body (which is in paralysis), or should I just imagine moving?

Just imagine it. Your imagination can become very real during SP. You could also imagine your dream body being moved by an invisible outside force.

So are you saying that if I just imagine moving, I will actually feel like moving, although it is just my imagination?

Some say use the rope technique. Here it is:

      Step 1: RELAX

Relax your mind and body. You may choose to meditate or perform a series of very deep breaths. In and out, always very slowly. Make sure you inhale deeply and that your breaths are not shallow. If you know a good body relaxation meditation, use it. If not, you can tense your muscles and release them one at a time. Work from your toes to the top of your head.

Step 2: Get Into A Hypnotic State

After you feel fully relaxed, you need to enter a hypnotic state where your mind is at the edge of sleep and no further. Now lie down and focus on an object. Stare at it until you can visualize it perfectly even with your eyes closed.

Step 3: Get Into A Deeper State Of Relaxation

Now it’s time to enter a deeper state of relaxation. Your eyes are still closed and you are still visualizing your chosen object. But now you look around you with your eyes closed. Gaze into the darkness. After a while you may see light patterns dance across your eyes. Just ignore them and they will go away. Once they disappear
you’ve entered a deeper state of relaxation. You will be so relaxed that you are no longer aware of your physical body. Once you reach this level, it’s time for step 4.

Step 4: Enter A State Of Vibration

This is the most vital step and it’s when you enter into a state of Vibration. This state may take longer if you are new to this. When you do begin to feel the vibrations, your astral body has begun to leave your physical body. Just acknowledge this and feel the vibrations.

      Step 5: Control The Vibrations

Focus on the vibrations as they travel throughout your body. Using your willpower, control them with your mind. As you feel them, try to control the frequency of the waves as well as stopping and starting them. Once you master changing the frequency and you are sure that you can induce them when needed, you’re ready for step 6.

      Step 6: Imagine The Rope

Here is where you will exert your control and willpower. Imagining that there is a long rope hanging right above you. Without opening your eyes or moving your
physical body, visualize yourself reaching up towards the rope. Once you grab a hold of the rope, bring your hand back into your physical body, slow down the vibrations, and end the session.

After you become fully alert and awakened, move on to step 7.

Step 7: Rinse And Repeat – Now Let’s Do The Whole Body

Now that you’ve done a partial separation you’re ready to try the whole body. Repeat the previous 6 steps but this time, don’t stop at just one hand. Imagine your other hand coming out of your physical body and reaching for the rope. Slowly place hand over hand on the rope as if you were
      pulling yourself up.

You may feel a little dizzy at this point and the vibrations will buzz at a higher frequency. Often people here feel paralyzed or shrink back into their physical bodies. But concentrate on climbing the rope. Don’t stop until you feel your entire self separating from your body (or in this case focus on a lucid dream and into you find yourself in a dream state of awareness which might start in your bedroom). Finally you’re free! You will find yourself hovering over your body at this point

My tip is : Stay in sleep paralysis, youll get used to it , ill guarantee you.
accept it as you accept it everyday since you are alive! its true, SP happens every night
It keeps you from doing things in bed that you do in your dreams like throwing a ball. youd throw that imaginary ball in bed too if there was no sleep paralysis.
in the beginning its scary as fuck.
but youll get used to it
in the end sp is a good thing.

      Yes, basically.

Everything in a dream is just your imagination.

      Yea I feel you.
I can recall waking up in sp several times during nights and this night I told myself lets just relax through this and try to leave the body, but it was just... soo uncomfortable that I had to make myself wake up.
It wasnt scary, it was just plain uncomfortable.. Some sort of claustrophobic uncomfortability that unables me to relax.

This sounds like a technique for Astral Projection or OBEs. I want to lucid dream.

Some folks seem to think that they are the same thing. Though this is debatable-- the physiology of OBEs and LDs differs (stage one sleep vs. REM).

I recommend doing the astral projection technique and then demanding to enter a dream. Your intents and demands are very powerful in the fluid OBE/LD environment.

OK. So, how exactly can I enter the dream from sleep paralysis?

Once you enter SP a dream is already beginning to form. That's why SP comes with such weird sensations. You are experiencing reality and dream fragments at the same time. In order to enter the dream all you have to do is switch your focus away from reality and onto the dream fragments.

Sometimes this can be hard because the dream that's formed can be a dream of lying in bed. This makes it hard to differentiate between what is reality and what is the dream. So to avoid this problem you encourage some sort of movement from your dream body, like floating or spinning. If you feel yourself floating it obviously isn't your real body that's floating so it becomes very easy to separate reality from dream. Just put your focus on that floating body and before you know it you'll find yourself fully immersed in a dream.

Here's how it works for me almost every time.
I feel SP take hold. It's usually accompanied by vibrations and a roaring sound in my ears as well as a floating sensation. My body begins floating but my head stays locked to the pillow. I'm experiencing a dual awareness between my dream body that's floating and reality which is my head seemingly locked to the pillow. I relax and let myself float until my body feels completely upside down and vertical. This creates a very uncomfortable sensation for my neck which feels like it's being bent too far(just a hallucination). When my neck starts to hurt I encourage my floating body, using thought alone, to continue the rotation and my head suddenly breaks free from the pillow and I find myself on my feet in a dream.

All of this happens with very little conscious effort on my part. Most of the time all I do is relax and it happens automatically. Some times I put a little more mental effort into it.
