problems with DEILD

i have a problem with the induction technique of DEILD. i understand that you must wake up during a REM cycle for a success, and i have no problem with that. the only problem is my alarm on my phone. the alarm does not quit unless you manually hit the dismiss or snooze button. if not, it automatically snoozes after 1 minute exactly. 1 minute of the alarm would wake me up too much, not letting me attempt DEILD with much results. do you have any suggestions for me? such as a FREE android app with an alarm that stops after a few seconds? and help would be greatly appreciated, as i am still looking for my method of inducing lucidity, and i think DEILD is the one for me, if i can find a good alarm. i a newbie on this site so sorry if this is in the wrong category. i have a feeling this one also belongs in lucid aids.

That would technically be a WILD and not a DEILD. DEILD's occur upon waking from a dream unexpectedly. Since you do not know when you will be dreaming you cannot set an alarm for it.

i guess you are right, but i would still have the repeating alarm problem. do you know any apps for android that stop after a few seconds?

If you could somehow get your phone to send you a text at a certain time, the tone would only sound once...I don't know about androids, but I think you can do that with iphones.

wow thats a really good idea, thanks man. but i already found a solution. on the ipod, you can set an event on the calendar app. i set if for every day at 5:30 AM. the calendar event alarm only goes for 3 seconds. i just need to test it tonight to see if it would wake me up in time for the DEILD
