Odd WILD Attempt

I was attempting a WILD, everything was going ok but very slowly I had some hypnagogia and I could hear stuff but it was taking really long so I got up. The weird thing is that my body had lots of energy and my mind was awake obviously. I felt like I had straggled the line between being awake and sleeping. Is this common?

From what people tell me you should never get up from a WILD, just fall asleep

Are you sure you were really awake? It is easy to get fooled by false awakenings, so be sure to perform a reality check any time you get out of bed. Don't give up when you WILD. If you get close, then suddenly feel like you are completely awake, just lie down and try again. You will be right back where you were in a few seconds. Sometimes it takes me a few tried to succeed during a WILD. I will experience some hypnagogia, then snap out of it, and feel like I'm totally awake. I just go right back to what I was doing, and all the crazy hypnagogia, hallucinations, vibrations, ect, hits me again almost immediately. Be persistent, and don't be fooled.

I did many RC's. Although last night I had a false awakening and I tried WILD again but I couldn't do it. Today though I'm super tired and I'm going to try the FILD.

I would add visualization to your WILD attempt... try to visualize the last dream you can recall even if it was not from the same night. Good luck to you!

superchaz, this happened to me one night also. I started hearing sounds and visualizations. Like you said it seemed like I was on the edge of dreaming, but unfortunately I got frightened and got up because the visualizations were quite horrific. I guess its a good thing I woke upon else I would had a night terror... I've only been in that state once though. I guess it's not too common.
