      My attempts on different techniques

      Hey

I'm pretty new to LD, I had like 6-8 LD's using only autosuggestion. I mean I "just had" them, without using any technique, I was just doing RCs, and thinking about lds.

I decided to post here my attempts on different LD techniques.
I wasn't LDing for long time, but I had a random ld for no reason few days ago, which taken me back to LDs and stuff

My first attempt was a pretty much fail.

So there we go, first attempt was a wbtb+mild:
After almost whole day of reading this forum, excited, I went to bed.
I set my alarm clock to 4:00, and I went to bed early, which was a bad idea. It was 21:30. I was so excited about this ld, I couldn't sleep. Finally, I falled asleep. My alarm clock hit the right point, I waked up right after REM state. First thing I did, I written my recent dream on a sheet of paper. Then, I went to kitchen, drank a glass of water, went to bathroom, it took me like 10 minutes. Finally, I went back to bed. I was repeating my mantra. It was like "My dream will be lucid, I'll do a RC". I repeated it like a lot of times. After that I just tried to fall asleep. Yeah. I tried. And I failed.

      I just couldn't fall asleep ;_;

Well, it was a fail. I'll try to do that again.

      Hey there. Welcome to DV

      That's alright, remember:

FAIL means First Attempt In Learning!

WBTB+MILD is my favorite technique When you wake up for WBTB, I suggest not doing anything too much that it will completely wake you up. Try not to use too much light too, because that can influence wakefulness as well.

You can also try experimenting with the best time for you to stay up during a WBTB. For others, the optimum time is around 30 minutes to an hour, while for some, it only requires them to stay up for a few minutes. Try attempting it with different amounts of time, and figure out which works best for you.

      Good luck! happy dreaming.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Some people have too much trouble falling asleep to do WILD. I would suggest a DEILD. The next time a dream wakes you up in the middle of the night... don't move (or even open your eyes if you can help it). Try visualizing that very dream that woke you up while you fall back to sleep. If you cannot remember the dream you were having try visualizing another dream you remember or just a peaceful scenario. Good luck to you!

Does every person wake up after REM stage?
I rarely wake up at the middle of the night. When I do, I'm just thirsty or I have to use the toilet.

We transition from Theta to Delta brainwave states throughout the night and therefore we have different levels of awareness even in our sleep. But no, waking up in the middle of the night after a dream is relatively rare. So I take advantage of it when it happens to immediately try a DEILD by visualizing the dream I awoke from.

Is it possible to train your mind to wake up after every dream?

Yeah, just use a mantra! When your going to bed repeat to yourself "I wake up after every dream". When i do this i wake up about 5 times in the night and record around 4-5 dreams. Its great for lucidity but it got annoying to wake up 5 times a night so i stopped xD But you should definitely practice that mantra if you are looking for a DEILD. Good luck!
