      WILD

Okay, ive read little tips here and there about WILDing and i've attempted to do it myself but can't seem to figure it out. so i just want, once and for all, to get clear cut examples of exactly what you do and what happens to you when you have a successfull WILD, so anyone that can execute a WILD on any given night could you just explain how its done, thanks.

lay down dont move your body until it falls asleep. could take 10 minutes to 2 hours. stay conscious no matter what. thats it. its so easy once u know what to do that it just happens for me on accident even when im not trying. like if i lay down without moving and just trip out on some trippy CDs.

well its usually not that easy

but anyway back to your question, ill put EXACTLY what I do when I really want to WILD (not the EWILD method just the normal WILD)
      anyway here are the steps:

1- I have to have had at least 8 hrs of sleep the prior night, also it helps to have gotten up the morning before you WILD at around 8-9 am (in other words the night before the night you attempt WILD you should go to sleep at around 11pm-12am and get up around 8-9am the next morning)

2- be sure to have a sleep mask and earplugs ready the night before you attempt the WILD, these are very important trust me,

3- before going to bed you can take (although I don’t) vitamin B6 supplements, I don’t know how many to take because iv never used vitamins/ drugs to induce any LD, also you could just eat a banana or two to increase dream recall instead of using vitamins.

4- go to bed around 9pm, make sure you set your alarm for 3am then go to bed , but before you go to sleep do the WILD method with your earplugs and sleep mask on just to get the feel for it, do it until you feel drowsy and then drift off, remember to lay on your back when WILDing,

5- get up at 3am use the bathroom get some water eat a banana, (you might need to brush your teeth after this because bad breathe will get in the way of your WILDing.

6- wait until about 3:30 and get ready to WILD (get sleep mask on and put earplugs in) use the bathroom again even if you don’t feel like you need to because you will think you need to when WILDing, also get a sip of water, not allot but not too little, and lay on your back and prepare for your WILD.

7- put your sleep mask over your eyes and make sure there are no TVs or radios on, now while laying on your back begin relaxing, start repeating in your mind, "breathe in... breathe out" over and over, now when your sufficiently relaxed begin thinking of what your going to do in your WILD, because once your in your first its hard to think, after putting together how your going to get wherever your going or whatever your going to do (make sure you start from your bed and plot how your getting wherever from there) begin repeating again, breathe in, breathe out, when you say "breathe out" relax just a little more, feel yourself sink just a little further into the bed, but be sure to concentrate only on your body relaxing and your word "breathe in, breathe out"

8- eventually you may or may not hear sounds and see images, Iv actually never felt like I was falling or felt vibrations and iv had around 40 WILD induced LDs , eventually you will feel a surge go through your body as though you’ve suddenly become totally awake, (that’s what happens to me) but the important thing to remember is to expect nothing, ONLY expect to get more relaxed every time you say breathe out. DO NOT wait for vibrations or noises or images, and if you do see images or hear things then don’t think about them, only think about relaxing and breathing in and out, then eventually you will have your WILD, I recommend that you don’t actually go crazy and psychotically run around because you will wake up and that’s never fun, but... if its your first WILD then go ahead and have some fun, you only get one first

9- also when you wake from your WILD chances are that your in a F/A, a F/A is much like a WILD except that it catches you off guard, you will be in your bed and everything will be normal, which is why I recommend doing a reality check every time you wake up regardless of if you had an LD
      --------------------------------------------------

I hope that helped, if you have any questions about it just ask

This is very interesting. I've always found that if your inner clock is set, then it's not the number of hours you've slept that determines whether you will be entering REM real soon, but just what time it is. Two examples: 1) The one time I got it right, I got virtually zero sleep that night, but in the morning, I just put my head down, and boom, vibrations. 2) When I came back from Europe, I was 6 hours jetlagged or so. I went to bed at around midnight our time anyway (i was REALLY tired). I woke up from a really vivid nonLD, and to my surprise, it was only 2AM.

So my question is, could you explain the logistics of your sleep patterns for your WILD? That is, one day, going to bed at midnight and getting up at 9, and the next, going to bed at 9, and getting up at 3. On average, when do you USUALLY go to bed? Probably not 9... so don't you have immense difficulties falling asleep the night before you get up at 3? (then again, maybe you DO go to bed at 9, for full on REM by 3:30).

So, since your sleep pattern doesn't actually shift just because you go to bed earlier on one day, what does going to bed at 9 actually accomplish? =)

well actually i usually go to bed at around 12-2am... but the reason I say to go to bed at 9pm is just because thats the time when i usually have the best of luck with WILDs (I dont know why it just is ) but i guess you could go to bed at another time as long as its going to be dark outside for at least 2 hours after you wake up to start WILDing, also you should get exactly 6 hours of sleep before getting up to WILD, also you should sleep at least 8 hours the night before and get up 12 hrs before the set time that your going to sleep before you WILD.

I pretty much skipped over everyone else's post so i dont know if anyone said this, but its really really NOT a good idea to try WILD's at night. An ideal time would be 5 hours after you sleep.

by really really not a good idea do you mean almost always unsuccessful or like... dangerous (i'm unsure how it could be dangerous...) and what is the difference between being tired after sleeping a fraction of the night and being tired after a day of being awake..

nothing is dangerous. sleep at night usually takes a long time for rem to start. in the morning it starts faster, therefore so does the wild

yes. a number of times i have been lying down at night and my eyes started REMing. although this one time i was trying WILD before bed with a brainwave mp3 on and they were REMing in about 10 minutes for a few minutes but me being the dumbass that i am, i stopped it. but other than that i personally have never done a wild at night.

you would most likely have to lay still for 2 hours and if your lucky it would start. others say just to do it after 5 hours of sleep. then it starts very fast.

i said its not a good idea to do WILD at night because you can sometimes stay up for hours or even the whole night trying to do it. plus when you do it at night, you STILL have to go through 5 hours of pretty much non-REM sleep. By doing it in the morning, you'll have done most of the sleep and you can just go straight into much longer REM sleep periods

You know i've found WILDing is something you gotta figure out on your own... If you try doing it by the book so to speak you're in for crappy sleep and throwing off your current sleep schedule. If you try goin to bed earleir or getting a full 8 hours of sleep when you try to WILD again you usually wake yourself up too much or just rest yourself enough in the proccess to make it damn near impossible to fall asleep again. Seems i have the best luck at unusual times, being extremely tired or coming in the afternoon on my couch taking a nap. Another trick I've found is that if you turn on some music and fall asleep with it, not even trying to WILD you have a really good attempt at it. I think the music keeps you aware of your body in the real world which you normally just forget about as you drift off into sleep. By doing that i've just had more memorable dreams even if they weren't lucid, not only that it brings you closer to WILDing altogether.
