      Theory on LD Anticipation Pre-Sleep

One thing I've noticed mostly occurring among new LD'ers and in fact myself (Tbh, I'm still fairly new.) is that excitement about LD'ing, depending on how excited I get, increases certain things involving dreaming. When I get excited enough, I'll usually recall 1-3 dreams more than normal that night by default. I'll get a huge boost in my chance of attaining lucidity. For me, those two things become dramatically (at least imo) increased when I'm excited or anticipating LD'ing greatly for a good portion of the day. Personally, I get excited thinking about epic battles and other miscellaneous things you'd likely see in say, a fantasy novel. Reading DJ's that involve these things also boost my excitement and therefore, according to my theory, my chance of LD'ing and recalling dreams. Other DJ's that don't involve such things still seem to provide even the slightest excitement though. Anyways, just a random little theory I've had quite a bit recently. I'll get a much better chance to test this within the next while since it's winter break and, 1.) I can sleep in to get a few extra testing sessions (although I comprehend with sleeping in or napping the results will probably already lean toward better chance of LD'ing, not so sure about better dream recall, I'll have to see about that.) and 2.) I'm doing a science project involving white noise and vivid dreams so I can POSSIBLY incorporate that into my testing for this (hopefully it doesn't mess with the results for the project as it may affect that as well.) Either way, if anybody else would like to test this theory, do as you wish. :p
Imo, if this theory proves true, then it could be a gold mine for LD'ers. Just a theory though.
      Buhl and faceonmars like this.
V: Who? Who is but the form following the function of what, and what I am is a man in a mask.
Evey: Well I can see that...
V: Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation. I'm simply remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.

      A thread I made.

And I think that this is a good idea, good luck with your findings. I try and get excited about LDs, because I have more of a confidence outlook. I get excited because I am going to have an LD tonight.

Let us know how your experiments with White Noise goes. Personally, I prefer Pink Noise as it is easier on the ears. Few people know that our hearing never quite goes to sleep and it is the last sense to leave us when we die.
