This May Help LD's Last Longer.......

      Hey

I was thinking about this last night while laying in bed since i sometimes have a hard time making my LD's last for along time..

Well..When you become Lucid in a dream...Summon a small hand timer, and set it for like 10-15mins and while you are setting it, say "This is how long my LD is going to last" And while you are walking around or doing whatever in your Lucid Dream, keep looking at it as time goes down, to remind yourself that's how much longer your LD is going to last.

Because if you have something to stablealize your "Excitement" and to "Focus" yourself onto something in your LD-specially a timer-It could last the amount of time that you put on that Timer?

      What do you all think?

      Thanks DJ JONES

      Hey, good idea!
I remember seeing a thread or something a while back where the person "got inside" their head and simply switched a "LD" switch to on ( and continued to have LDs ).
Perhaps you could use the same concept as well, just imagine your subconcious spread onto a wall or something and switch "Long LDs" to ON.

Are you crazy? only 10-15 minutes? I would set it to 3 hours.

This is a VERY smart idea spirit, I was thinking of trying something like this myself. How about having a small timer clock which is always in your hand in the dream, and it counts down to when you would leave the lucid dream... so if you want to stay longer you can 'wind' the timer back up to however long, 2 hours 2 days, 2 years

I'll start trying this in my lucid dreams and report results here
What you are determines what you do.
What you think determines what you are.
What you know determines what you think.
      Knowledge is power.

sorry to crush everyone's hopes, also i may be wrong, but if you all read the tutorials, you'll remember when you look at anything time related (clock, watch etc.) everytime you look back it will be different. i'm not sure how this would play out with a timer but... who knows

correct me if im wrong, but i think the actual reason for doing the clock thing is to trick you're mind into making it have longer lucid dreams. It doesn't really matter if you can read it or not.

uhm i don't remember it saying anything about lengthening your LD's, but rather a reality check to make you lucid

      clock is a good idea..
      i dunno...
stuff like that is tricky though,
I could see it going haywire...
      30 mins one instant..
      the next 5 mins ...
      then like 15 ..
or just all the hands furiously spining

Maybe an hour glass would work better

      but i duno..

I've learned never to trust a clock......
      they are very very sneaky.
They say dreaming is dead and noone does it anymore. It's not dead, it's just been forgotten, removed from our language. Nobody teaches it, so nobody knows it exists. .. waking life

Ahh...this topic is back again. Cool. Lol. Well..in my first LD since joining..I was out of my house..and I turned Lucid..so the first thing that happened was someone sort of clock just poofed into my hand..and I set the time of how long the dream was going to be with my mind..and then it just dissapears...I had no idea how long I set it. Lol. The process took like...one sec. Lol.

Time is completely relative when you are dreaming, (this also applies to waking life, but that's another discussion.) So it is possible to trick your mind into thinking you have been dreaming for years, when it was only say a few hours. The timer will set a basis for the length of the dream, but I am sure it would not stay accurate as you looked at it, the time on it would vary just like time does in any other dream.

i tried it last night, unfortunatly it didn't work. Then again i did rush around and it wasn't that clear of a dream to begin with. So, i will continue to keep trying.
